Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has approved the appointment of Mrs. Adenike Ayobami Fasina as the new Head of Oyo State Civil and Public Service.
The appointment was contained in a press release dated May 29, 2026, signed by the outgoing Head of Service, Mrs. Olubunmi Olufunke Oni, mni.
Mrs. Fasina will take over from Mrs. Oni, who is retiring from the Oyo State Civil Service on attainment of the mandatory retirement age in line with extant rules and regulations.
The new Head of Service hails from Eruwa in Ibarapa East Local Government Area. She joined the Oyo State Civil Service in 2000 as Statistician II and rose through the ranks. Prior to her appointment, she served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance.
Mrs. Fasina is a two-time recipient of the Oyo State Merit and Productivity Award. She is also a member of the National Institute, mni, and an alumnus of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru. She belongs to several professional bodies.
In a related development, Governor Makinde also approved the appointment of 20 Executive Secretaries and General Managers across various agencies and departments in the Oyo State Civil/Public Service.
No date has been announced for the swearing-in of the new Head of Service and the appointees
Mrs. Oni will formally hand over to Mrs. Fasina at the end of her tenure.
