The Maye Balogun Babalaje of Ibadan land, Chief Ayo Folorunso has asked Nigerians to monitor their votes after casting instead of being apathetic in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
Chief Folorunso popularly known as Ayo Onike said that what is important is for Nigerians to vote and watch their votes being counted and then observed when it being sent to INEC portal for onward display.
He noted that Nigeria system is still substandard hence real time Electronic transfer of results can not be employed adding that there are not enough communication coverage through the country otherwise it would have been better to choose the former.
“ In Nigeria, we lack the technology know how let alone having total coverage of the nation by all the networks provider” he posited . In this kind of situation, you do not have any choice than to use what you have to transmit results which is manually “ he stated.
“If you look at our facilities, they are very much substandard so much that we do not have good roads network and even good water and some are talking about trusting the network provider which can not deliver to sent the results to every part of the nation “
On the possibility of rigging being perpetrated at this level, he has a different approach to the issue as he enjoined all political party to have party agents who will monitor and watch how the votes cast are being counted and the results sent.
“ My advise is that all the political parties should watch carefully to prevent what they call rigging because it is all of them that are rigging “ noting that “ it is just that one of them that is the best rigger who will rig the rest out” he submitted.
