The Aare Musulumi of Adamasingba and Environs in Ibadan, Oyo State, Aare (Dr.) Adewale Adeyinka, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State to intensify efforts toward the immediate rescue of the abducted teachers and pupil in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.
Aare (Dr) Adewale made the appeal amid growing concerns over the safety and welfare of the victims, stressing that their prolonged captivity has continued to generate anxiety among families, residents, and well-meaning Nigerians.
The Islamic and community leader described the incident as disturbing and unfortunate, noting that the continued detention of innocent citizens by kidnappers reflects the urgent need for decisive and coordinated security intervention.
According to him, the appeal became imperative considering the hardship, trauma, and untold suffering which the abducted teachers and pupil have allegedly been subjected to since their abduction.
Speaking with Oodua News on the issue, Aare (Dr) Adewale said the incident has remained a source of worry since it occurred, adding that every necessary machinery should be activated to ensure the safe and speedy release of the victims.
“This development has become so worrisome since its occurrence. I am urging the Oyo State Governor and the President to, as a matter of urgency, take drastic and proactive actions in securing the release of the victims,” he said.
Aare Dr Adewale further cautioned Governor Makinde and President Tinubu against allowing partisan interests, turn the issue to politics or political considerations to overshadow the urgency of the humanitarian crisis.
“I want to admonish both the governor and the president not to turn the situation into politics of any sort, because doing so would amount to toying with the precious lives of innocent citizens,” Adeyinka stated.
The Aare Musulumi emphasized that the security and protection of lives remain the primary responsibility of government at all levels, urging relevant security agencies to intensify intelligence gathering and rescue operations.
He also appealed to security operatives to work collaboratively and deploy every available strategy capable of securing the victims’ release without further delay.
Dr. Adewale expressed sympathy with the affected families, acknowledging the emotional and psychological pain they have endured since the abduction.
He called on residents to remain vigilant and continue supporting security agencies with credible information that could aid rescue efforts and strengthen security across communities.
Dr. Adewale further stressed the need for sustained government commitment toward addressing insecurity, particularly incidents involving schoolchildren and education workers, warning that such occurrences pose serious threats to the educational sector and public confidence.
The abduction of the teachers and pupil in Oriire Local Government Area has continued to attract public attention, with increasing calls from community leaders, civil society groups, and concerned citizens for urgent government intervention and improved security measures to prevent future occurrences.
