The attention of the Obidient Movement in Oyo state has been drawn to a highly fallacious news item which started trending on the social media space on 30th September, 2026, claiming that a certain politician by name Sunday Oni who claimed to be leader of Obidient Movement in Oyo state has led thousands of Obidient Movement followers to join APC and by so doing endorsed Senator Abiodun Sarafadeen Alli for governor in the coming governorship election in Oyo state.

Our first reaction to this, was to ignore such tissues of lies being told by some name droppers and clout chasers, who had since 2023 been going everywhere to drop the name of Obi and Obidient to promote themselves and shamelessly cash out in their political merchandise.

However, before some simple minded individuals begin to see our silence as a “silence that means consent”, the conglomeration of support groups of Peter Obi and Rabbiu Kwakwanso, which compromised the Leadership of Obidient, Kwakwansiyyas, Village Boys, Transform Nijer and host of other Obi support groups across Oyo State, at its Conference held at Mokola Hill Ibadan on 1st October, 2026 discussed the matter among other salient issues and resolved as follows:

  1. To come up with this rejoinder to debunk the tissue of lies portraying Mr Sunday Oni as the leader of the Obidient Movement in Oyo state. This is as a wicked lie aimed at deceiving the public and confuse the true Obidients in Oyo state.
  2. That anyone who is familiar with the Obidients will know that, no genuine Obidient leader in the Nigeria of today will align with APC.
  3. To equally state that Mr Sunday Oni had at no time been elected or appointed as leader of the Obidient Movement in Oyo state.
  4. That for the avoidance of doubt, we wish to say unequivocally that Mr. Sunday Oni was not and is not the Obidient leader in Oyo state, and he did not move into APC with the followers of Obidient in Oyo state. If there were anybody with him during the so-called declaration, they could be some “rent-a-crowd” or at best members of his freelance and scavenging politicians, masquerading as Obidients to gain clout in the ecosystem of their new found “political carcas.”
  5. The Obidient Movement in Oyo state remains solidly with our Principal HE Peter Obi and His running mate HE Rabbiu Kwakwanso.
  6. Our focus is on putting the duo in Aso Rock come 2027 and there is no amount of filthy money and ill-gotten wealth from any politician that can buy our loyalty to sway us from this God inspired assignment.
  7. We therefore, call on Obidients in Oyo state and all other well-meaning Nigerians who believe with us that a new Nigeria is possible and that Nigeria will be OK in 2027, to please disregard the fallacious lie from the pit of hell.
  8. We keep wondering how they continue to say that Obi and the Obidients are inconsequential, yet they go about dropping our “brand name” and on the other hand viciously attacking our Principal at every opportunity they find.
  9. Finally, we in the Obidient Movement wish to use this medium to announce to Nigerians that OK Ticket is the only viable vehicle available for us to salvage the country from the hunger, humongous corruption, debt and ineptitude which APC has drawn this country to, since 2015 when the Party took over power in this country. All Nigerians should join hands with Obi and Kwakwanso to chase this ignoble Party out of Aso Rock come January, 2027.
