The Olubadan of Ibadan land, His Imperial Majesty Oba ( Dr) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa1) has described late (Dr) Oba Owolabi Olakulehin (Ige 1) the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland as a renowned traditional ruler, peace loving and disciplined ruler
Oba Ladoja further stressed that being the first Olubadan to use Olubadan central palace at Oke Aremo, Ibadan, throughout his reign Ibadanland witnessed unprecedented peace, progress , stability and development of Ibadanland
The message was contained in the press release issued and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Ayoade Solomon Olugbemiga on Sunday 12th July shortly after the one year Remembrance Service of late Dr) Owolabi Olakulehin (Ige 1)at the Cathedral of St Peter , Aremo, Ibadan
During his traditional rulership, there was absolute peace, developmental projects, unity and progress in Ibadanland
The Monach and members of Olubadan – In – Council congratulated all the traditional rulers, the sons and daughters of Ibadanland for the peace that is reigning in Ibadanland and he praye for the sustainance of peace, progress and development of Ibadanland
In his sermon, the Provost of the Cathedral of St Peter, Aremo, Ibadan, Very Rev Samuel Kayode Olawoyin appealed to the congregation to do all in their powers to be perfect in their ways of life as directed in the Gospel book of Mark
It would be recalled that Oba Olakulehin left this sinful world on 7th July,2025 after brief illness. During his lifetime he was a bonafide member of the Cathedral of St Peter, Aremo, Ibadan
Present at the remembrance service were the representatives of Oba Ladoja and members of Olubadan – In – Council which included Oba Dr Kolawole Adegbola the Otun Balogun of Ibadanland, Osi Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Abiodun Kola – Daisi, the Olakulehin family led by Aremo (Barr.) Olasunmbo Olakulehin, Central Council of Ibadanland (CCII) led by its President General (Barr ) Ajeniyi Ajewole, Chief Bode Amoo, the Prelate Emeritus Sunday Ola Makinde, Clergies and their wives,sons ,daughters and residents of Ibadanland, Ibadan Mogajis and Baales among others
