The TOA Mandate Organization (TMO) has been inaugurated in Ekiti East Constituency II as part of efforts to mobilise grassroots support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ekiti State House of Assembly election, Hon. Barr. Tajudeen Olutope Ahmed (TOA).
In a statement released by the TOA Media Team and made available to the press in Ado-Ekiti, the inauguration attracted APC leaders, stakeholders, youths, women and supporters from across the constituency.
The event also featured the distribution of campaign posters, handbills and banners across the seven wards that make up Ekiti East Constituency II.
Speaking at the event, the APC Chairman, Ekiti East Local Government, Chief Clement Ojo, urged party members to remain united and work collectively towards victory for all APC candidates.
He called on the people of Ekiti East to replicate the massive support given to Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji during the recent governorship election by voting overwhelmingly for APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
Also speaking, the State Chairman of the APC Elders Forum, Chief Oni, described Barr. Tajudeen Ahmed as an Omoluabi, a credible and accomplished lawyer whose experience, integrity and political influence would be deployed towards attracting meaningful development to Ekiti East Constituency II.
The Chairman of the APC Elders Forum in Ekiti East Local Government, Alhaji Tiwonloju Bello, also appealed to constituents to vote massively for TOA, expressing confidence in his ability to deliver effective representation.
He described TOA as a brilliant lawyer and urged constituents not to misconstrue the demands of legal practice against him, noting that lawyers are professionally required to defend their clients within the ambit of the law.
Alhaji Bello further demonstrated his support for the TOA Mandate Organization with a financial contribution, although the amount was not disclosed.
The Chairmanship Candidate for Ekiti South-East LCDA, Hon. Adenike Ogunleye, congratulated Barr. Tajudeen Ahmed on the establishment of the TMO and urged voters across Ekiti East Constituency II to support all APC candidates, including herself, in the forthcoming local government elections.
In his remarks, the APC Ward 10 Chairman in Ilasa, Hon. Abejide, expressed appreciation to Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for providing opportunities for political inclusion and development.
He noted that Ward 10 had historically not produced both the Chairmanship and State House of Assembly representatives in the political history of Ekiti East Local Government, describing the current opportunity as significant.
He therefore appealed to other wards to support Barr. Tajudeen Ahmed and other APC candidates aspiring to represent the people at the House of Representatives, Senate and Presidency.
The inauguration also attracted the presence of the serving member representing Ekiti East Constituency II in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Lateef Akanle Kongo, as well as former House of Assembly member, Hon. Dare Pelemo, who is also the Chairman of the Iruwa-Ogiriwa Group.
Hon. Dare Pelemo, a leader in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), assured the gathering that Wards 10 and 11 would deliver overwhelming support for TOA at the polls.
He also called on stakeholders and residents of Omuo-Oke, Kota, Isaya, Araromi-Ugbesi and Ahan-Ekiti to unite behind one another and support candidates from the constituency whenever it is their turn to contest.
Speaking at the event, a respected APC leader from Ilasa-Ekiti, Chief Bayo Arowolaju, appreciated the party leaders and stakeholders for coming together to support Barr. Tajudeen Ahmed.
Chief Arowolaju disclosed that his support for the candidate was also borne out of their close family relationship, describing Barr. Ahmed as his blood brother.
He urged other political leaders and stakeholders across the constituency to rally behind TOA and support his aspiration to represent Ekiti East Constituency II effectively.
In his remarks, the APC State House of Assembly candidate for Ekiti East Constituency II, Hon. Barr. Tajudeen Olutope Ahmed, appreciated the party leaders, stakeholders, supporters and well-wishers who attended the inauguration.
He explained that the TOA Mandate Organization was established to complement the activities of the APC Campaign Council once constituted, while providing an additional platform for grassroots mobilisation across the constituency.
According to him, there is a need to commence early mobilisation because various political groups, interest groups and members of other political parties, including the PDP and ADC, have indicated their readiness to work with the TMO.
Barr. Ahmed reiterated his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote community development, youth empowerment and women empowerment, assuring constituents that their views would remain central to his representation.
He also promised to regularly engage party leaders and constituents through town hall meetings and other consultation platforms to ensure inclusive representation.
Youths from across Ekiti East Constituency II also attended the inauguration in solidarity with the TOA candidacy.
The youth representatives appealed to the candidate to carry young people along in the formulation and implementation of programmes and policies, stressing that meaningful youth participation is essential for effective representation and sustainable development.
They pledged their support towards delivering all seven wards in Ekiti East Constituency II for TOA at the polls.
Representing the Saruku family of Isinbode-Ekiti, Hon. Ajibade Muraina, a board member at the state level, also expressed support for the TOA Mandate Organization and contributed banners towards the mobilisation effort.
Other prominent personalities at the inauguration included renowned journalist Comrade Olawale Ezekiel Ogunyebi, Hon. Bayo Awodumila, Hon. Ayewa, the Secretary of the APC in Ekiti East Local Government,a two term chairman APC in Ekiti East Local Government, Hon Kehinde Oluwatuyi,Secretary LCDA, Hon Yemi Alala( Yemite),as well as APC ward chairmen across the constituency.
Also in attendance were serving councillors and APC councillorship candidates across Ekiti East Constituency II, alongside numerous party leaders, stakeholders, youth leaders, women leaders and other notable personalities.
Several other political leaders and stakeholders sent representatives or tendered apologies, including Engr. Komolafe of Ward 3, the current LCDA Chairman, Hon. Anthonia Omonusi, the MHR candidate, Rt. Hon. Femi Bamisile, and Chief Omo-Iya, who was commended for his continued support for the TOA Mandate Organization.
The event recorded an impressive turnout, with women groups adding colour and excitement through songs, chants and traditional music as supporters expressed solidarity with the TOA candidacy.
The inauguration marked another significant step in the grassroots mobilisation efforts ahead of the election, with the TOA campaign team reaffirming its commitment to building broad-based support across the seven wards of Ekiti East Constituency II.
