Isese Day 2026: Jubril Sanusi Urges Traditional Worshippers to Pray For President Tinubu, Nigeria, Promote Unity…Calls for Peace, Tolerance, Cultural Preservation

The Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland and Okanlomo Oodua Worldwide, High Chief (Engr.) Jubril Dotun Sanusi has urged traditional worshippers to use the occasion of the 2026 Isese Day celebration to offer prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the government and people of Oyo State, as well as peace, unity, security and prosperity across Nigeria.

Chief Sanusi gave the urge while felicitating traditional worshippers across the world, particularly those in Oyo State and Nigeria, on the occasion of the 2026 Isese Day celebration.

Sanusi, in his Isese Day message, described the celebration as an important opportunity for traditional worshippers to celebrate and promote the rich cultural heritage, values and traditions of the Yoruba people.

He urged traditional worshippers to use the occasion to offer prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the government and people of Oyo State, as well as peace, unity, security and prosperity across Nigeria.

According to him, the country’s traditional institutions and cultural values remain essential to preserving the nation’s identity, fostering unity and strengthening the bonds among the people.

He said: “Our cultural values and traditional institutions remain vital to preserving our identity, promoting unity and strengthening the bond among our people.”

The traditional chief also called on traditional worshippers and Nigerians at large to embrace peaceful coexistence, tolerance and mutual respect, stressing the need for collective commitment to the development and progress of society.

Sanusi noted that cultural celebrations such as Isese Day provide an avenue for people to reconnect with their heritage and promote values capable of strengthening unity and peaceful coexistence.

He therefore wished traditional worshippers a peaceful, successful and memorable Isese Day celebration.

“Let us continue to embrace peaceful coexistence, tolerance, mutual respect and collective commitment to the progress of our society,” he said.

He concluded by extending his warm greetings and heartfelt felicitations to all traditional worshippers celebrating Isese Day 2026.
