Adeniyi Adeyemi, who describes himself as the Director-General of the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has been arrested following a bench warrant issued by a Federal High Court in Abuja.
Adeyemi was taken into custody shortly after Justice Mohammed Umar ordered his arrest on Tuesday when he failed to appear for his scheduled arraignment.
The defendant was expected to take his plea in an eight-count charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, bordering on alleged forgery, fraud and impersonation.
Although the case was listed as number 12 on the court’s cause list, Adeyemi was absent during proceedings. His lawyer, Genesis Francis, announced his appearance before the court, but the judge proceeded to issue a bench warrant for the defendant’s arrest.
Adeyemi’s arrest came shortly after the court’s order, bringing an end to his absence from the proceedings.
He is expected to be arraigned before the Federal High Court on the charges filed against him.
