The Yeye Bobagunwa Oodua Worldwide and Iya Oba Isin Kingdom, Chief (Mrs.) Olayinka Latinwo, has extended warm felicitations to Muslims across Nigeria and beyond on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging adherents of Islam to embrace peace, love, sacrifice, and national unity during the festive period.


In a goodwill message made available to Oodua News, Chief (Mrs.) Latinwo congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II (CFR), Ooni of Ife, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, as well as other prominent traditional rulers, political leaders, and eminent Nigerians on witnessing another Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

She described Eid-el-Kabir as a significant spiritual occasion that symbolizes obedience, sacrifice, compassion, and unwavering faith in God, noting that the lessons of the celebration should inspire Nigerians to work collectively for the peace and progress of the nation.
According to her, Nigerians, irrespective of religious or ethnic affiliations, must continue to promote peaceful coexistence and support one another in the face of current economic and security challenges confronting the country.
“I congratulate Muslim faithfuls and Nigerians generally on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the occasion should serve as a moment of sober reflection and a period for Nigerians to come together irrespective of religious differences, colour and tribe in order to foster peace and development in our dear nation.”
Chief (Mrs.) Latinwo specifically urged Muslim faithful to celebrate the festival peacefully and responsibly while extending love and acts of kindness to the less privileged, widows, orphans, and those who may not have the means to fully partake in the celebrations.
She said the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir should go beyond merriment, emphasizing the need for compassion, charity, and humanitarian support for vulnerable members of society.
“Eid-el-Kabir is a season of sacrifice, love, and sharing. I encourage all Muslims and Nigerians in general to remember the poor, the needy, and those who are struggling. Let us use this period to spread happiness and strengthen the bonds of unity among our people,” she stated.
The respected Yoruba cultural leader also charged Nigerians to intensify prayers for the country, particularly in the areas of economic stability, national security, and sustainable development.
She expressed optimism that with unity, sincere leadership, and continuous prayers, Nigeria would overcome its present challenges and emerge stronger as a peaceful and prosperous nation.
Chief (Mrs.) Latinwo further commended religious leaders and traditional institutions for their continuous roles in promoting harmony and moral values across communities, calling on citizens to remain hopeful and supportive of efforts aimed at rebuilding the nation’s economy and strengthening security architecture.
She prayed for continued peace, progress, and divine guidance for Nigeria and wished Muslims a joyous and fulfilling Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
