The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Ekiti East Constituency II, Barr. Tajudeen Olutope Ahmed (TOA), has reaffirmed his commitment to promoting the welfare and economic advancement of artisans, traders and allied technicians across the constituency.
TOA gave the assurance through his representatives at the inauguration of the Ekiti East Local Government Chapter of the Artisans, Traders and Allied Technicians Association, held at Oke Are Town Hall, Omuo-Oke Ekiti.
Speaking at the event, TOA’s representatives highlighted the indispensable role of artisans, traders and technicians in community and national development. They noted that members of the informal sector contribute significantly to job creation, skills development, poverty reduction, local productivity and overall economic growth.
TOA pledged to provide accessible, accountable and effective representation if elected to the Ekiti State House of Assembly. He further assured members of the association of his commitment to supporting their activities, facilitating meaningful empowerment initiatives and creating opportunities to improve their businesses and livelihoods.
Responding, the Chairman of the newly inaugurated chapter, Comrade Babatunde, expressed appreciation for TOA’s engagement with the association and pledged the support of its members for his candidacy in the forthcoming election.
He appealed to TOA to prioritise qualified local artisans and technicians in the award and execution of community-based projects, provide meaningful empowerment to deserving beneficiaries and establish a lasting working relationship with the association.
Comrade Babatunde emphasised that artisans need a representative who will not merely make promises during election periods but will sustain genuine engagement and translate commitments into practical support.
He expressed confidence that TOA’s willingness to identify and engage with artisans, traders and allied technicians reflected a people-centred approach to leadership and offered hope for a productive and mutually beneficial relationship in the years ahead.
The newly inaugurated Ekiti East Local Government Chapter of the association is led by Comrade Babatunde as Chairman and Prince Temitope Elejogun as Secretary.
