The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ekiti East Constituency II in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. (Barr.) Tajudeen Olutope Ahmed (TOA), has visited former Ekiti East Local Government Chairman, Chief Israel Kayode Osadare (Okiki), and his former councillor colleagues as part of consultations for his House of Assembly bid.
Chief Osadare chaired Ekiti East Local Government in 1997, when TOA served as a councillor and Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture and Natural Resources. During the visit, TOA described Chief Osadare as his teacher, mentor, benefactor and leader. He recalled that Chief Osadare had taught him Biology in secondary school years before they served together in the local government.
TOA said he had come to seek Chief Osadare’s blessings and support in recognition of the role he had played in his life and public service. He said their longstanding relationship made the visit important to him, even though Chief Osadare is from Ekiti East Constituency I and TOA is contesting in Constituency II.
Welcoming TOA, Chief Osadare pledged his support and solidarity. He recalled TOA’s record as a formidable legislator during their time on the council and expressed confidence that he would distinguish himself as a representative of Ekiti East Constituency II in the State House of Assembly.
TOA also met with his fellow councillors from the 1997 council to seek their support and cooperation. Speaking on their behalf, Chief Joshua Jayeola, the Elede of Kota, described TOA as a respected colleague and assured him that members of the 1997 set would rally behind his candidacy.
