
The Nollywood industry was thrown into mourning on Tuesday following the death of popular Yoruba comic actor, Adeshina Okiki Oshin, better known as ‘Janmole’, who died in an auto crash on Monday.
President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, TAMPAN, Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr Latin, confirmed the tragedy in an Instagram tribute on Tuesday.
According to Mr Latin, Janmole succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.
“May the soul of our departed colleague, Adeshina Okiki Janmole, who tragically lost his life in an accident, rest in perfect peace. May God grant his family, friends and colleagues the strength and comfort to bear this irreparable loss. He will be greatly missed. Amen,” he wrote.

News of Janmole’s death has triggered an outpouring of grief from fellow actors, filmmakers and fans across social media, with many recalling his signature humour and comic timing.
The actor’s death comes almost four years after he narrowly escaped death in a fire incident along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Known for his humorous roles, Janmole endeared himself to audiences through films such as Agunbaniro, Ìyàwó Asante and Ọgbọ́n Inu. His death leaves a void in Yoruba comedy, where he was celebrated for bringing laughter to millions.
