The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oyo State will commence the distribution of newly printed Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) across the commission’s 33 local government offices in the state on Friday, October 9, 2026
The exercise, which is being conducted ahead of the 2027 general elections, will take place from 9am to 3pm daily, excluding weekends and public holidays.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Prof. Rahman Tella, disclosed this in a statement, saying the distribution was for newly registered voters, voters who recently transferred their polling units, and those whose PVCs were lost or damaged during the last Continuous Voter Registration exercise.
“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Oyo State, will commence the distribution of newly printed Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) on Friday, October 9, 2026, across the 33 local government offices in the state.
“Further distribution of the new PVCs will take place from 9am to 3pm daily, excluding weekends and public holidays.
“The exercise is meant for newly registered registrants, those who have recently transferred their polling units from one place to another, and those whose PVCs were lost or damaged during the last Continuous Voter Registration exercise,” Tella said.
The REC stressed that the collection of the PVCs would be strictly personal and would not be done by proxy.
“The commission has made adequate arrangements to ensure that the exercise remains transparent, orderly and peaceful, in collaboration with security agencies across the state,” he added.
Tella urged the public and all relevant stakeholders in the electioneering process to cooperate with us by ensuring the prompt collection of these newly printed PVCs.
“It is important to note that the commission still has quite a number of uncollected old PVCs from the last general election in the state,” he said.
