A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and CEO of Harrison Alonge Foundation ,
Harrison Olaniyi Alonge, has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and voters in Ikere-Ekiti for delivering a peaceful and orderly governorship election.

Alonge, who cast his vote at Polling Unit LA 004, Ward Edemo, told journalists the exercise reflected the political maturity of the electorate.

Speaking after voting, Alonge described the electoral process as encouraging and commended INEC, security agencies, and ad-hoc officials for professionalism.

“I am impressed with the level of organization and the peaceful atmosphere here in Ikere-Ekiti. From accreditation to voting, the process was smooth. INEC officials arrived early and voters conducted themselves orderly,” he said.

The France-based businessman noted that the conduct of stakeholders showed Ekiti people’s commitment to democratic consolidation.

Alonge urged eligible voters who were yet to vote to come out peacefully, stressing that elections provide citizens the chance to choose leaders without fear or intimidation.

“Every vote is vital in determining the future of Ekiti State. I appeal to political parties, supporters, and residents to maintain peace before, during, and after this election. Our unity and stability must remain paramount,” he stated.

The Ikere-Ekiti-born philanthropist expressed confidence that the outcome would reflect the will of the people and further strengthen democracy in the state.

“Democracy thrives when citizens participate actively and peacefully. I congratulate Ekiti people for this commitment and urge all stakeholders to uphold sportsmanship and respect for democratic values,” Alonge added.
