As Nigeria marks this year’s Democracy Day celebration, the Chief Executive Officer of the Harrison Niyi Alonge Care Foundation and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Harrison Olaniyi Alonge (HOA), has called for stronger collaboration between communities and security agencies as a vital step toward sustaining peace, security, and national development.

In a goodwill message released through his media aide, Comrade Olawale Ogunyebi, and made available to journalists in Lagos, Alonge noted that democracy thrives best in an atmosphere of peace, security, and stability. He stressed that citizens have a collective responsibility to support security agencies through timely information sharing, vigilance, and active community engagement.

According to him, effective community-security partnership remains one of the most reliable strategies for combating crime, safeguarding lives and property, and fostering sustainable development across the country.

The APC chieftain also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as significant strides in infrastructural renewal and economic reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria for long-term growth and prosperity.

The France-based businessman lauded the administration’s commitment to road construction, transportation development, investments in critical sectors, and policies designed to strengthen the nation’s economy. He expressed optimism that the ongoing reforms would continue to yield positive outcomes and improve the living standards of Nigerians.

“Democracy is not only about electing leaders; it is about collective participation in nation-building. We must continue to support our security agencies while also embracing government policies geared towards economic growth and infrastructural development,” he stated.

Alonge further urged Nigerians to remain patriotic, law-abiding, and committed to the ideals of democracy, emphasizing that national progress can only be achieved through unity, peace, and active citizen participation.

He congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of Democracy Day and called on citizens to continue supporting governments at all levels in their efforts to build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous nation.
