ALAAFIN charges religious organisations on consistent ethical voices in public discourse

The Alaafin of Oyo , His Imperial Majesty, Oba Engineer Abimbola Akeem Owoade 1, has admonished religious organisations to create intentional pathways where older generations guide younger members in spiritual disciplines.

A release by his Director of Media and Publicity, Bode Durojaiye, Oba Owoade gave the advice on Sunday in Oyo town at the two billion naira fund raising ceremony for legacy development projects by Nasru- Lahi – L Faith Society ( NASFAT).

The event was part of 25th anniversary celebration of the religious organisation.

According to the Paramount Ruler, “” the true essence of legacy development by religious organizations lies in balancing timeless truths with evolving methods. By treating financial resources, physical property, and spiritual leadership as sacred trusts to be managed for the future, religious organizations ensure that their foundational vision continues to heal, inspire, and serve communities for centuries to come.””.

He noted that when faith-based institutions successfully build a lasting legacy, the benefits ripple far beyond their immediate membership, adding that “”many of the world’s oldest hospitals, universities, and food distribution networks were founded through religious legacy initiatives, as endowments ensure these services run uninterrupted””.

“” A well-established religious institution, like the NASFAT offers a consistent ethical voice in public discourse, spanning across multiple eras””, Alaafin pointed out.

Oba Owoade cautioned that building a legacy is not without its modern hurdles, hence oganizations must navigate several complex challenges to remain effective.

Oba Owoade who further submitted that the bedrock of any religious legacy is the faithful transmission of core beliefs and values, warned that “” younger generations are less likely to give out of blind institutional loyalty, as they require deep transparency and measurable real-world impact””.
