Honourable Monilola made the declaration on Friday during the official unveiling and declaration of candidates of the party held at Watershed, where party faithful, supporters and stakeholders gathered to affirm their commitment to the APM ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The event featured the presentation of candidates contesting for various political offices, including the presidency, Senate, House of Representatives, Oyo State House of Assembly and local government positions.

Speaking during the gathering, the councillor maintained that the growing support for Governor Makinde and candidates of the party was rooted not merely in party affiliation but in the governor’s performance and developmental achievements across Oyo State.

According to her, residents of the state have continued to appreciate the administration’s commitment to governance, infrastructural development and people-oriented policies, which she said have earned Governor Makinde widespread acceptance among the electorate.

She stressed that voters in Oyo State are increasingly driven by the visible impact of leadership rather than political party sentiments.

“The people are not voting merely because of party identity. They are voting based on the good work and performance of Governor Seyi Makinde. His achievements have spoken loudly and won the confidence of the people,” she said.

Honourable Monilola further stated that the atmosphere at the declaration venue reflected the growing popularity of the Alliance Peoples Movement and the readiness of its members to work tirelessly toward victory in the next general elections.

She expressed optimism that the party’s candidates at all levels would record electoral victories, citing what she described as increasing public trust and grassroots support.

The councillor urged party members and supporters to remain united and committed to the ideals of the APM, noting that unity and dedication would play a crucial role in achieving the party’s political aspirations.

She also called on eligible voters to continue supporting leaders who demonstrate genuine commitment to development and the welfare of the people.

The declaration ceremony at Watershed attracted party loyalists and political supporters who pledged their allegiance to the party and reaffirmed their determination to mobilise support for its candidates.

Political observers at the event noted that early declarations and mobilisation efforts are becoming key strategies among political groups preparing for the 2027 elections, particularly as alignments and campaigns begin to take shape across the country.

With preparations gradually gathering momentum ahead of the general elections, the Alliance Peoples Movement appears poised to strengthen its structures while projecting confidence in its candidates and leadership
