IBADAN – The Aare Musulumi of Adamasingba and Environs, Ibadan, Aare (Dr.) Adeyinka Adewale, has commended Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the nation’s security agencies for the successful rescue of the teachers and a pupil who were abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.


The victims were kidnapped on May 15, 2026, during school hours while carrying out their official duties, an incident that sparked widespread concern across Oyo State and beyond.

In a statement issued in Ibadan on Monday, Aare Adewale described the rescue operation as a testament to the commitment of both the Federal and Oyo State Governments to protecting the lives of Nigerians.
He praised Governor Makinde for his steadfast commitment to the safety and security of residents, noting that the governor remained actively engaged throughout the period of the victims’ captivity until their eventual rescue.
Aare (Dr) Adewale who also is the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Aryfad Travels and Tours Limited, Ibadan also applauded President Tinubu for providing the necessary support and leadership that strengthened the nation’s security architecture, resulting in the successful operation.
Aare (Dr) Adewale equally lauded the gallantry, professionalism and resilience of the security agencies, particularly the military, police, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and other security operatives involved in the rescue mission.
“The successful rescue of the abducted teachers and pupil is a great relief to their families, the education sector and the entire people of Oyo State. It demonstrates that with synergy, commitment and determination, insecurity can be effectively tackled,” he said.
He urged the Federal and State Governments not to relent in their efforts to rid the country of criminal elements, stressing the need for sustained intelligence gathering, enhanced security collaboration and adequate support for security personnel.
The Aare Musulumi further called on Nigerians to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could help prevent crimes and ensure the safety of lives and property.
He congratulated the rescued victims and their families, expressing gratitude to God for preserving their lives throughout the period of captivity.
Aare Adewale also prayed for lasting peace, security and stability in Oyo State and across Nigeria, expressing optimism that the successful rescue would further strengthen public confidence in the nation’s security institutions.
