..leads campaign against GBV

The wife of the Chairman, Afijio Local Government, Chief Mrs. Bola Ojo has charged victims of gender-based violence to promptly report the case to law enforcement agencies or social welfare unit in the council just as she called on well-meaning bodies/organizations to join the campaign to eradicate gender-based violence in the society.
Mrs.Bola Ojo made the appeal when she led women in her council on a campaign against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in line with the vision of the Wife of the State Governor , Engr. (Mrs.) Taninominini Olufunke Makinde
A statement by the Head of Information Unit of the local government, Folashade Oduola , indicates that the campaign is aimed at ensuring the safety for women and girls in all aspects and to create a world where women and girls are free from violence, live in dignity and have the freedom to claim their rights at all levels.
The gender-based violence includes sexual abuse, domestic violence, early or forced marriage, verbal abuse at work, wife battering, hate speech on the internet and the likes
The campaign was kickstarted at the Main Gate of the Local Government Secretariat Jobele and later moved to Jobele environments to Elekara market and other popular spots within the local government.
