A prominent humanitarian and philanthropist, Chief (Ambassador) Adeshina Osaze Kadri, has appealed to the Oyo State Government and security agencies to intensify efforts toward the rescue of the abducted teachers and pupil of Ahoro-Esinle Community in Ogbomoso land, describing the incident as barbaric and unacceptable.


Ambassador Adeshina Kadri made the passionate appeal on Tuesday while receiving the prestigious Humanitarian Ambassador Award presented to him by the management of Oodua News Newspaper in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.


Speaking shortly after receiving the honour, the philanthropist condemned the abduction in strong terms and called on the authorities to act swiftly in order to reunite the victims with their families.
According to him, the worsening cases of insecurity and banditry in parts of the state require urgent and decisive actions from government and security operatives.
He said the attack on innocent teachers and pupils was “wicked, painful and barbaric,” stressing that the safety of citizens, especially school children, must remain a top priority for government at all levels.
Ambassador Adeshina Kadri further urged the state government to develop and implement effective security measures capable of curbing criminal activities and preventing future occurrences.
He noted that communities across the state deserve to live without fear and anxiety, adding that the increasing rate of insecurity poses serious threats to education and community development.
The humanitarian ambassador also expressed appreciation to the management of Oodua News Newspaper for recognizing his contrbutions to humanity and community development.
Describing the award as heartwarming and encouraging, he said the honour would further motivate him to continue rendering selfless service to society, particularly to vulnerable and less privileged persons.
“I want to sincerely appreciate the management of Oodua News for this heartwarming award. Honestly, I was very happy when I received the letter notifying me of my nomination for this prestigious award. This will no doubt encourage me to contribute more of my quota to my community and our society, he said.
Presenting the award, the Chairman of Aryfad Travels and Tours Limited, Chief (Dr) Raymond Adeyinka Adewale, commended Ambassador Adeshina Kadri for his generosity and commitment to humanitarian causes.
He described the award recipient as a man with a rare passion for helping the needy and uplifting members of society through various humanitarian initiatives.
Chief (Dr) Adewale noted that the philanthropist’s spirit of love, giving and dedication to humanity remains worthy of emulation, adding that society needs more individuals committed to supporting the less privileged.
In his remarks, the Editor of Oodua News Newspaper, Comrade Richard Thomas, described the award presentation as part of the organization’s long-standing tradition of celebrating individuals who have distinguished themselves in humanitarian service and community development.
He disclosed that the management of Oodua News had closely monitored the philanthropic efforts and community development initiatives of Ambassador Kadri Adeshina over time before arriving at the decision to honour him.
Comrade Thomas urged the award recipient not to relent in his humanitarian efforts, assuring him that greater recognition and rewards await individuals who dedicate themselves to serving humanity.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Deputy Editor of Oodua News Newspaper, Mr Bode Akinbode, explained that the organization remains committed to recognizing and encouraging individuals who invest their personal resources in positively impacting society.
According to him, the media organization was established about 25 years ago with the primary objective of promoting the unity, culture and collective interests of the Yoruba race.
He added that the newspaper, which publishes both in print and online formats, has continued to make significant contributions to the Nigerian media industry over the years through responsible journalism and advocacy.
Akinbode encouraged Ambassador Kadri Adeshina to sustain his humanitarian activities and continue supporting vulnerable people in society.
The colourful event was held at the office facility of Aryfad Travels and Tours Limited located in the Adamasingba area of Ibadan.
Dignitaries and guests present at the occasion included Mr Wale Adewunmi and several members of the organization, who applauded the award recipient for his continued commitment to humanitarian service and community advancement.
Chief (Ambassador) Adeshina Osaze Kadri hails from the Ile-Iba compound at Oja Iba in Ibadan. He is the son of the late Alhaji Adekunle Taofeek Kadri, a prominent figure from the renowned Ile-Iba compound and a descendant of Bashorun Oluyole, the foremost warrior and grandson of Bashorun Gaa and Alaafin Abiodun of old Oyo Kingdom.
Ambassador Adeshina Kadri holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial chemistry and a master’s
degree in analytical chemistry, both from the University of Ibadan. Additionally, he has
completed a postgraduate program in Cybersecurity from The University of Texas at Austin,
McCombs School of Business.
Ambassador Adeshina Kadri is also credentialed with the NEBOSH
International General Certificate in Occupational Hygiene and Safety (UK) and has
successfully completed the Certificate in International Oil Trading and Pricing from The
Oxford Princeton Program (UK). He is a Certified Professional Purchasing Manager
accredited by the American Purchasing Society.
Amb. Adeshina Kadri is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria, a fellow of the
Institute of Agribusiness Management of Nigeria and a fellow of the Ecolerite Institute for
Peace Advancement. He holds memberships in several esteemed professional bodies,
including the International Society of Sustainability Professionals, the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, and the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.
With nearly two decades of extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, Ambassador
Adeshina has distinguished himself as a chemist specializing in petroleum and environmental chemistry. He specialises in crude oil fingerprinting, identifying spill sources, and oil geochemistry tools to conduct production allocation studies in Chevron.
