
The Iganna Kingdom was filled with celebration and reflection on Tuesday as His Royal Majesty, Oba (Diamond) Saliu Oyemonla Azeez, Agunloye IV, Ayefemiloye I, marked 17 years on the throne as the Sabiganna of Iganna.
In a press statement issued by the Sabiganna Media Officer to the revered monarch, Sodiq Yusuf described the anniversary as a significant milestone characterized by “purposeful leadership, uncommon wisdom, and unwavering dedication” to the service of the kingdom.
The statement highlighted the monarch’s reign as one that has consistently inspired unity, peace, and development within the ancient town. According to Yusuf, the royal father has served as a stabilizing force and custodian of Iganna’s cultural heritage, while also promoting progress and communal harmony.
“Your throne has not only remained a symbol of unity and cultural pride but has also stood as a beacon of progress and enlightened leadership,” the statement read.
Over the past 17 years, Oba Oyemonla Azeez’s leadership has been credited with fostering cohesion among residents and strengthening cultural consciousness across the kingdom.
The media office further expressed prayers for the monarch’s continued good health, wisdom, and a prosperous reign, while wishing him many more years of impactful leadership.
The anniversary marks nearly two decades since the traditional ruler ascended the throne of his forebears, a period widely regarded by admirers as transformative for the Iganna Kingdom.
