Correspondents covering the Oyo State House of Assembly have commended the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, for what they described as remarkable strides and outstanding leadership during his tenure as Chairman of the Nigerian Conference of Speakers (NCS).

In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Oyo Assembly Correspondents, Mr. Mosope Kehinde, the journalists noted that Ogundoyin’s leadership brought renewed strength, visibility, and unity to the Conference, while significantly elevating the role of state legislatures in Nigeria’s democratic development.

They praised the Speaker’s commitment to institutional reforms and inter-parliamentary collaboration, stressing that his tenure was marked by progressive engagements with key national stakeholders, including the National Assembly, the executive arm of government, and development partners.
According to the statement, Ogundoyin consistently used his position to advocate constitutional reforms, capacity building for lawmakers, and improved welfare for legislative staff across the federation, thereby strengthening democracy at the sub-national level.
“Under his leadership, the Nigerian Conference of Speakers recorded remarkable achievements in promoting unity among Speakers of State Houses of Assembly, defending legislative independence, and amplifying the voices of state legislatures in national discourse,” the statement read.
The Oyo Assembly correspondents congratulated Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin on the successful completion of his tenure as NCS Chairman and expressed confidence that his contributions would remain a reference point for future leaders of the Conference.
They wished him greater success in his legislative and leadership pursuits, describing him as a worthy ambassador of Oyo State and a pride of the Nigerian legislative community.
