Aare Musa Olusanya honoured with Oodua News ‘Pillar of Progress Award’ – Calls on FG to implement viable economic policies to improve living standards of Nigerians

A prominent community leader and Pioneer Chairman of Igba Otun Area CDC, Akute, Ogun State, Aare Alhaji Musa Saliman Olusanya, has called on the Federal Government to urgently embark on realistic and people-centered economic policies capable of promoting sustainable development and enhancing the living standards of the masses, particularly the less privileged across the country.

Aare Musa Olusanya made the appeal while recieving “Pillar of Progress Award” from the management of Oodua News Newspaper at the Pasino Hotel, Ologometa, Akute Ogun State.

Aare Musa Olusanya while commending President Bola Tinubu for his efforts at moving the nation forward urged him to intensify efforts to prioritize policies that will ease the burden of the poor and restore hope to the downtrodden citizens.

According to him, Nigeria, blessed with abundant human and natural resources, has no justification for the high level of poverty and economic deprivation currently experienced by the populace.

“The time has come for our leaders to show true commitment to the welfare of the people. Economic growth must not only reflect on figures and charts but must translate to improved living conditions for the ordinary Nigerian. The essence of governance is to promote collective prosperity, not the enrichment of a few,” he stated.

Speaking on the award, Aare Olusanya described the award as heartwarming, adding that it will further encourage him to do more for the people and his community.

“This honour means so much to me, not as a mere recognition but as a strong reminder that every sincere effort to other people will be rewarded. I am profoundly grateful to the management of Oodua News for deeming it fit to honor me with this prestigious Pillar of Progress Award.

“I was elated and highly encouraged when Mr Kingsley Modeyin, the Bureau Chief and Marketing Manager of Oodua News gave me the news of my nomination for the award, It gave me great joy to know that some institutions appreciate my contributions to humanity and my community.

“This award to me is not an end in itself, but a renewed call to greater service to my community and humanity. I dedicate this award to all those who share the dream of a better, progressive and united society and to those who labour silently behind the scenes, believing that community growth begins with collective responsibility.”

” I also dedicate the award to my family members, Igba Otun Area CDC and especially, my wonderful people who stood by me during the occasion.

In his address, the editor of Oodua News Newspaper Ibadan, Comrade Richard Thomas commended Aare Musa for his act of philanthropy, selflessness and true love for his people, his community and humanity generally

According to him, the award presented to him was based on his records of achievements and his contributions to his community and humanity.

“We thank you for your effort, we pray God Almighty will give you more grace to continue to make positive impact in your community and humanity generally.

Speaking, the Bureau Chief and Marketing Manager of Oodua News, Lagos and Abeokuta, ESV Kingsley Modeyin said the reason for nominating Aare Alhaji Musa Olusanya was based on his humanitarian gestures and contributions to Igba Otun Area CDC.

“We want people to know that it’s not enough to hold an office but to deliver with impact. Aare Musa Olusanya has proven himself as a purposeful leader with impeccable records to show for this award.”

Some of the guests at the event commended Aare Musa Olusanya for his unwavering commitment and huge contributions to humanity and Igba Otun Area CDC. They described him as a leader with impeccable character who is always ready to assist those who seek his help.

The Deputy Editor of Oodua News Newspaper, Comrade ‘Bode Akinbode in his vote of thanks, commended the people for their support and cooperation, saying, service to humanity is good and highly rewarding. He urged members at the occasion to support Aare Alhaji Musa Olusanya in his quest to do more.

Aare (Alhaji) Musa Saliman Olusanya was born on June 10, 1957, in Igia Ibaka, Oka-Akoko, Ondo State. He stands as a distinguished community leader, visionary administrator, and tireless advocate for grassroots development. A proud son of the Musa family, Aare Olusanya has, through integrity, commitment, and purposeful leadership, built an enduring legacy of service and progress.

He started his education at the Local Authority Primary School, Ibaka Oka, and the African Church Grammar School, Oka-Akoko, he later attended the Ondo State College of Arts and Science (OSCAS), Ikare-Akoko, before obtaining a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Accounting from the prestigious University of Lagos (UNILAG) in 1997.

Aare Olusanya began his professional journey with the Lagos State Ministry of Education, where he served diligently as an Assistant Executive Officer from 1988 to 1992. His entrepreneurial drive led him into the cement business in 1992 as a major dealer with West African Portland Cement Company (WAPCO), now Lafarge Africa Plc, and later as a recognized Dangote Cement dealer—supplying numerous civil engineering firms and retail outlets across the region. His enterprise stands today as a model of consistency, trust, and excellence.

Since relocating to the Matogbun community in 2004, Aare Olusanya has been a catalyst for development and progress.

As Pioneer Chairman of Abuja Drive Landlord Association (2005–2007) and later Pioneer Chairman of Melody CDA (2007–2013), he spearheaded the full electrification of the area with concrete poles and modern power lines. His tenure as Pioneer Chairman of Marvellous Group of CDAs (2013–2019) birthed multiple community projects, including culvert construction, establishment of the Vigilante Service (now So-Safe Corps), and the foundation of a Community Health Centre.

As Pioneer Chairman of Igba Otun Area CDC (2019–2025), he led the completion of a modern ₦21 million Community Health Centre, facilitated two transformers from government agencies, secured a polling unit, and he annually sponsored free JAMB forms for indigent students—nurturing the next generation of leaders.

His wider leadership influence as Chairman, G7 Group of Area CDCs, and Financial Secretary, TCPC (Ifo Zonal CDC) further underscores his reputation for integrity, vision, and excellence.

His service and devotion to humanity have earned him revered chieftaincy titles: Arowosadinni of Adura Mi Gba Mosque, Oko Oba, Agege, and Aare Musulumi of Idiosan Central Mosque, Matogbun.

Through his visionary leadership, financial discipline, and an unyielding spirit of service, Aare (Alhaji) Musa Saliman Olusanya has transformed lives and communities. He remains a beacon of hope, a pillar of progress, and a true architect of community development—an embodiment of humility, excellence, and selfless leadership.
