In a remarkable show of compassion and community service, Impact Guild Ladies Outreach (IGLO), a non-governmental organization committed to humanitarian causes, visited the Agodi Correctional Centre, Ibadan, on Wednesday, where they provided food and essential items to inmates and prison officials.

The outreach, led by the President of IGLO, Princess Funmi Alli-Kayode, known for her dedication to social welfare and child advocacy, was warmly received by the correctional centre’s authorities.
As part of the gesture, the organization distributed 1,200 packs of jollof rice and beef with bottled water to inmates and an additional 1,000 packs to prison officials. They also donated toiletries, soaps, 10 cartons of sanitary pads, Bibles, 1,000 copies of Evangelist Kikelomo Alli’s books, and various household items.
The program began in the female inmates’ section, where members of the outreach team offered prayers, words of encouragement, and distributed the donated materials with empathy. They later moved to the male inmates’ section, extending the same act of kindness and care.
The atmosphere was deeply emotional as visitors were visibly moved by the living conditions of the inmates. IGLO members joined in collective prayers for divine mercy and hope for those behind bars.
Speaking during the outreach, Princess Funmi Alli-Kayode expressed gratitude for the opportunity to make a positive impact, saying:
“We are leaving this correctional facility with a renewed sense of purpose and compassion. We are grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to all members, donors, and supporters who contributed to the success of this outreach.”
A representative of the Controller, Agodi Correctional Centre, commended the gesture, saying:
“This is very encouraging. May the Lord continue to strengthen and replenish you. Our Controller sends her regards and expresses deep appreciation for this thoughtful gesture.”
The mission of Impact Guild Ladies Outreach exemplifies the power of community engagement and the importance of kindness in restoring hope and dignity among marginalized individuals.
