The Chairman of the Local Government Staff Pension Board , Hon Akeem Ademola Ige has felicitated with the State Secretary , Nigeria Union of Pensioners ( NUP) Oyo state Chapter, Comrade Olusegun Abatan on his 71st birthday celebration.

Hon Akeem Ige stated this in a congratulatory message to Com Abatan and made available to journalists.

Hon Ige described Com Segun Abatan as a vibrant , visionary, selfless and exceptional Union leader who is passionate about the welfare of all the pensioners and never at any point pursue any personal interest but rather ensure that all pensioners in the pacesetter state are not left out in the scheme of things .

He said ” on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, management, staff of the Board, retired primary school teachers and local government retirees, I heartily congratulate our partner in progress , an exceptional and visionary unionist, the State Secretary, NUP, Com Segun Abatan on the occasion of his 71st birthday today, Wednesday, 2nd July , 2025.

” We acknowledge your support, cooperation and collaboration with the board and the present government over the past six years in order to improve the welfare of our senior citizens. We can never take your tireless efforts for granted.

“You have been a pillar of support to all pensioners and they hold you in high esteem knowing that you will never betray their trust. Also, the present administration under the leadership of the pensioners’ friendly governor, His Excellency, Engr . Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde has been able to record remarkable achievements since assumption of office in terms of pensioners’ welfare with your support and cooperation”

” We therefore join millions of friends and well wishers and pray that you will celebrate many more amazing and fruitful years in good health” .
