The Okanlomo Oodua Worldwide and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Engr. Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has called on leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State to embrace unity, dialogue and reconciliation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sanusi made the call while receiving the leadership of the Oyo State APC, led by the State Chairman and former Deputy Governor, Pa. Moses Adeyemo Alake, who paid him an appreciation visit following the successful inauguration of the Tinubu Torch Bearers in Ibadan.
He expressed appreciation to the state APC leadership for the gesture, saying it was a recognition of the contributions of grassroots mobilisation efforts towards the success of the inauguration.
Sanusi also congratulated the Oyo APC for what he described as the successful hosting of the historic event, noting that the impressive mobilisation demonstrated the commitment and readiness of party members ahead of the 2027 elections.
He said the objective was to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and work collectively for the emergence of Senator Sharafadeen Alli as the next Governor of Oyo State.
According to him, however, the pursuit of political objectives should not come at the expense of the unity of the party.
“But beyond politics, we must preserve our family,” Sanusi said, appealing to party leaders and members to reach out to aggrieved members and resolve differences through dialogue and reconciliation.
He cautioned that internal division could undermine the collective ambition of the party, stressing that no individual interest should be allowed to override the overall interest of the APC.
“Let’s not destroy the family with disunity,” he appealed.
Sanusi maintained that a united APC would be better positioned to achieve its political objectives in 2027, urging members to put aside personal differences and work together towards building a stronger and more formidable party in the state.
“Together, we can build a stronger, more united and more formidable APC ahead of 2027,” he added.
