The Founder and Spiritual Head of Shafaudeen-in-Islam Worldwide, Prof. Sabit Ariyo Olagoke, JP, has charged political leaders and public office holders to govern with the fear of God, integrity and a strong sense of responsibility to the people.
Prof. Olagoke gave the charge on Friday during the Jumat service at the Shafaudeen-in-Islam International Mosque, Wakajaye, Ibadan, attended by the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli.
In his sermon, the Islamic cleric emphasized accountability, justice and selfless leadership, reminding those in positions of authority that they would render account of their stewardship both to Allah and the people.
He described Senator Alli as a man of humility, urging him to continue to use his influence to improve the welfare and living conditions of residents across Oyo State.
Prof. Olagoke also enjoined citizens to support leaders who demonstrate honesty, compassion and genuine commitment to societal development, while offering prayers for peace, unity and progress in Oyo State and Nigeria.
Speaking shortly after the service, Senator Alli reaffirmed his commitment to transparent and dedicated service if elected Governor in the 2027 general elections, promising to prioritize the people’s welfare and implement policies that will uplift the state.
The APC governorship candidate also pledged to support the Wakajaye-Iyana Church Community, Ibadan, with solar street lights and a borehole, assuring that the projects would be delivered within a few weeks.
He added that the road leading to the community, which is currently in a deplorable condition, will receive priority attention if given the opportunity to govern the state.
