To say that His Imperial Majesty, Iku Baba Yeye, Paramount Ruler of of Oyo Kingdom, Oba Engineer Abimbola Akeem Owoade 1, relies heavily on the will and wishes of his subjects, and deeply concerned about the sanctity of his position, whatever happens and the welfare of his people is not an overstatement.
To secure the Royal Father’s support, a politician must convince him of offering his exalted position the highest degree of dignity, respect and honour it deserves as well as the care of his people through the dividends of democracy, hence the approval by President Bola Tinubu for the construction of multi- billion naira circular road, among other noticeable developments in the ancient City.
In less than two years on the throne of his forefathers, this unassuming Ruler has taken traditional leadership to another level, using his exposure, wealth and power to benefit his people and mankind.
With this laudable feat, many people still don’t know the economic values that the circular road project will bring to their doorsteps, hence the proper enlightenment, before being brainwashed by the fifth columnists.
Circular road construction projects deliver major structural, financial, and social impacts to local communities and regional economies.
While it increases desirability near schools, hospitals, commercial nodes transforms local real estate into long-term assets for indigenous landowners and investors.
Bypassing congested areas slashes travel time, vehicles wear-and-tear, and freight logistics expenses. Farmers gain faster, more reliable access to markets and processing hubs, lowering post-harvest losses and integrating rural outputs into broader supply chains.
Direct links to major national arteries (such as the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and position the ancient City as primary transit and distribution points.
What is more, construction phases create immediate jobs for local artisans, labourers, Engineers, and suppliers, post-completion, the emergence of light industrial clusters, warehouses, and logistics parks generates permanent local employment.
Demand rises sharply for built-environment and professional services, including Town Planners, Estate Surveyors, facility Managers, Architects, and legal practitioners. Toll-funded and investor-ready corridors attract private capital into designated commercial zones, boosting municipal revenues.
Diverting heavy freight out of densely populated neighborhoods will lower local accident rates, pedestrian hazards, and vehicular emissions, just as improved connectivity brings outlying peri-urban and rural communities closer to higher-tier medical facilities, secondary education, and governance offices.
However, kudos must be given to the good people of the ancient City who are discerning in minds to.understand the essence of prioritizing mutual understanding over public uproar as essential for community survival and growth.
Mutual understanding is the foundational bedrock of any stable, prosperous community, serving as the ultimate alternative to the destructive cycles of uproar and violence.
They are happy and grateful to their beloved Monarch for the unprecedented achievements being witnessed in their serene City.
They shun all subversive and reactionary active of the fifth columnists, stand besides their amiable Paramount Ruler, and are given all needed support and cooperation to the demolition Squad from Abuja who have started mowing down illegal structures, preparatory to the construction of the much expected Circular road project.
They told the cynics that the ancient City had shifted from a state of volatile reactivity to one of sustainable resilience, because true peace is not merely the absence of conflict, t is the presence of deliberate, systemic communication.
Cross section of residents interviewed by this writer said that “” they were able to combat rumours and inflammatory rhetorics by the fifth columnists by relying on verified facts and transparent communication dishes out from the Palace””.
They noted that “” ultimately, uproar and violence offer only a fleeting illusion of power while leaving behind permanent ruins. Mutual understanding, though demanding more patience and emotional labour, builds a resilient social fabric capable of weathering any internal or external crisis””.
They added that anger thrives on assumptions, adding that when community members pause to listen, they often discover that the “enemy” is driven by fear, grief, or misinformation . “”This shift in perspective disarms hostilities and creates a safe environment where dialogue can replace defensive posturing””.
