In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the police commissioner congratulated Muslim faithful on the occasion and urged them to use the period to pray for the continued peace, progress, and security of Oyo State and Nigeria.

He also advised residents to remain law-abiding and celebrate responsibly in line with the laws of the country.

To strengthen security during the celebration, the Command said tactical teams, detectives, intelligence operatives, and conventional police personnel have been strategically deployed to worship centres, recreational facilities, public gatherings, highways, and hinterland communities across the state.

The deployment is aimed at preventing criminal activities and ensuring the protection of lives and property during the festivities.

CP Olugbenga reassured residents of the Command’s commitment to effective policing and public safety, urging members of the public to support security agencies with credible and timely information that could help prevent crime.

The Command also released emergency contact lines for residents to report suspicious movements or seek assistance. The numbers are 615, 08081768614, 09054133071, and 09061299291.
