…Says Infrastructure Initiative Will Boost Economic Growth, Rural Development
The All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly candidate for the Lagelu State Constituency in the 2027 general election, Hon. Hassan Olawale Giwa, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving road projects valued at over N1 trillion for Oyo State, describing the initiative as a landmark investment in infrastructure and economic development.
Giwa, popularly known as HOG, made the commendation in a statement issued by his media office on Sunday, saying the President’s approval reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to improving road infrastructure and enhancing the socio-economic well-being of the people.
According to him, the massive road intervention will improve connectivity across communities, facilitate the movement of agricultural produce and commercial goods, reduce travel time, and stimulate economic activities throughout the state.
He noted that the projects, when completed, would significantly transform the state’s transportation network, improve access to rural communities, and provide farmers, traders, artisans and business owners with easier access to markets.
“The approval of over N1 trillion for road projects in Oyo State is a clear demonstration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to the welfare and prosperity of our people. Good roads enhance economic activities, reduce transportation costs, improve access to markets and ultimately raise the standard of living of the people,” Giwa said.
The APC chieftain described the development as timely, noting that poor road infrastructure has for many years constituted a major challenge to commerce, agriculture and socio-economic development in several parts of Oyo State.
He further praised President Tinubu for prioritising infrastructure projects that have direct and lasting impacts on the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
According to him, sustained investment in road infrastructure will not only improve transportation but also encourage private sector investment, create employment opportunities and accelerate rural development.
Giwa also assured the President of the continued support of APC members and residents of Oyo State, expressing confidence that the administration’s developmental programmes would earn greater public support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“On behalf of APC members, stakeholders and the good people of Oyo State, I commend Mr. President for this remarkable intervention. We appreciate his commitment to infrastructure development and assure him of our continued support as he works to deliver the Renewed Hope Agenda for all Nigerians,” he stated.
He called on residents of the state to continue supporting the Federal Government’s policies and programmes aimed at improving infrastructure, security and economic development.
Giwa also appealed to the Federal Ministry of Works and other relevant agencies to ensure the timely commencement and execution of the approved projects, stressing the need to maintain high construction standards so that the people can begin to enjoy the full benefits of the intervention as soon as possible.
