In a remarkable demonstration of philanthropy and commitment to community development, the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Inspiration Hotel and Suites, Otunba Sola Adewumi, alongside his wife, Otun Eyesorun Kemi Adewumi, has donated a newly completed building to serve as a Doctor’s Residence at the Ekiti State Specialist Hospital, Ikere-Ekiti.

The donation is aimed at improving the welfare of medical personnel and strengthening healthcare service delivery in Ikere Kingdom, reflecting the couple’s unwavering dedication to humanity and sustainable community development.

Speaking during the presentation, Otunba Adewumi said he was inspired to undertake the project after observing that the revered Ogoga of Ikere Kingdom had been accommodating doctors and other health workers within the palace due to the shortage of residential facilities. He noted that the situation prompted him to contribute towards providing a befitting accommodation for medical personnel serving the community.

He therefore called on well-meaning and illustrious sons and daughters of Ikere Kingdom, both at home and in the diaspora, to complement government efforts and emulate other distinguished leaders who have contributed immensely to the development of Ikere Kingdom, including the Asiwaju of Ikere Kingdom, Chief Wole Olanipekun, CFR, SAN, and General Olufemi Oluyede, by investing in projects that will enhance the socio-economic growth and overall development of the kingdom.

The event attracted several distinguished personalities from across the state, including renowned business mogul Otunba (Dr.) Olutoye Ariyo, KSJ; the Permanent Secretary, Ekiti State Ministry of Health; representatives of France-based businessman and philanthropist Harrison Olaniyi Alonge (HOA); the Executive Chairman of Ikere Local Government; and other top government officials.

Also in attendance were eminent traditional rulers led by the Chairman of the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Adejimi Adu Alagbado, Agirilala II, the Ogoga of Ikere Kingdom, members of the Ogoga-in-Council, the Atah of Ayede-Ekiti, other royal fathers, stakeholders, and respected community leaders.

In his remarks, Oba (Dr.) Adejimi Adu Alagbado offered prayers for Otunba Sola Adewumi and his wife, asking God to grant them long life, good health, and abundant blessings. The royal father also appealed to the Ekiti State Government to upgrade the Ekiti State Specialist Hospital, Ikere-Ekiti, to a Teaching Hospital in order to further enhance healthcare delivery in the state.

The gesture has been widely commended as a significant contribution to the healthcare sector and a shining example of responsible community leadership. Residents and stakeholders described the donation as one that will improve the working conditions of medical professionals while promoting quality healthcare delivery in Ikere-Ekiti.

The event concluded with heartfelt appreciation to Otunba Sola Adewumi and his wife for their generosity, while reiterating the call for more public-spirited individuals to partner with the government in advancing the sustainable development of Ikere Kingdom
