
In its avowed commitment to continue to give the Women of Ondo State a priority in his policy trust, His Excellency Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has put every necessary machinery in motion to domesticate the National Women Economic Empowerment ( WEE) action plan for the state.


The Hon. Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr Seun Osamaye, who made this known in her office while receiving in audience the domestication team led by Prof. Aina Olabisi, added that The Federal Government of Nigeria through it’s Nigeria Governor’s Forum (NGF) unveiled the National Women Economic Empowerment ( WEE) policy frameworks and it’s implementation strategy for State Commissioners of Women Affairs, Permanent Secretaries and other Gender Officers to conduct Assessment and validation exercise towards the domestication of WEE Policy in the 36 states of the Federation.
She informed that the National Women Economic Empowerment ( WEE) Policy and Action Plan is a comprehensive Nigerian federal framework designed to eliminate economic inequalities and accelerate structural reforms for women. It actively targets five key pillars: agriculture, entrepreneurship, traditional labour markets, emerging industries, and education/ skills development.
She added that the ultimate goal of the WEE is to enhance women’s financial inclusion, promote digital access, and provide equal opportunities across Nigeria’s dynamic economy.
She further informed that the domestication has been scheduled to commence on Monday, June 29th to Friday, July 3rd, 2026, at the Women Development and Skill Acquisition Centre, while a courtesy visit by the Team to Mr Governor will take place during the course of the exercise.
In attendance were the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Kolawole Kayode; all the Directors of the Ministry; Professor Aina Olabisi and her support Staff and Aides to the Hon. Commissioner
