LGSPB boss, Hon Akeem Ige celebrates two years in office, appreciates Gov Makinde, NUP, other stakeholders

The Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board, Hon Akeem Ademola Ige has expressed his profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde for giving him the opportunity to serve in the present administration in the Pacesetter state.

Hon Akeem Ademola Ige expressed his appreciation while speaking at the special thanksgiving church service to mark his two years in office held today at Wesley Cathedral , Elekuro Ibadan. He noted that the governor’s unwavering commitment to workers and pensioners welfare cannot be overemphasized.

Hon Ige said the Board has recorded remarkable milestone achievements under Governor Seyi Makinde’s government .

The Chairman gave kudos to the Nigeria Union of Pensioners Oyo State Council, branch Chairmen both retired primary school teachers and local government staff, Permanent Secretary, Acting HLGA, Directors and entire staff of the Board for their support and cooperation since he came on board .

Earlier in his sermon titled “Harvest of a New Dawn”, the Bishop, Diocese of Elekuro , Ibadan, the Rt Rev David Foluso Olukoya said ” whatever you sow , you will reap , there is time for everything and be a blessing to others around you especially the down trodden, noting new dawn symbolizes fresh start, end of bad season.” He then admonished people to sow good seeds through their actions, interaction with others, do not be a stumble block to the progress of fellow human beings and maintain close relationship with Almighty God in order to reap bountiful harvest .

Among dignitaries that present at the thanksgiving church service include the Permanent Secretary of the Board, TPL Olufemi Akinwale NULGE President, Oyo State Chapter, Comrade Ayobami Adeogun , Ag HLGA Alhaji Musibau Ladele, Elder Kola Oyelami Retired INEC Resident Commissioner, Heads of Departments, Alhaji Rasaq Olabode and other eminent personalities.

Earlier during the week, as part of activities marking his second year in office, Hon Ige visited his Alma Mater, Christ Church Mapo Primary School 1, Odinjo , Ibadan South East Local Government alongside management staff, political associates , community leaders and well wishers .

“This is my foundation, this is my beginning. This visit brings good memories , I was once like them and I thank God for where I am today. Majority of successful politicians, business mongul, people of high caliber attended public schools . So, we must think of giving back to our roots, public primary schools. ” Said he.

Also, the Chairman accompanied by the member representing Ibadan South East LG / Ibadan North East LG, constituency in the House of Representative, Hon Adigun Agboworin, management and staff of the Board attended special jumat / thanksgiving prayer held on Friday at the Secretariat mosque, beside fire service station to give thanks to Almighty Allah for sparing his life and giving him the opportunity to put smiles on the faces of esteemed senior citizens in the state.
