Ikere -Ekiti Stands Still for BAO/MCA As Women Campaign Council, Harrison Alonge Mobilise Voters Ahead of June 20 Poll …Olujimi leads grand finale rally, distributes palliatives

The ancient town of Ikere-Ekiti came to a standstill on Tuesday as the National Women Campaign Council for the re-election of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) and Deputy Governor Chief Mrs. Monisade Afuye (MCA) stormed the city for the grand finale of its statewide tour.

Leading the campaign rally was the Co-Chairperson of the National Women Campaign Council, Senator Biodun Olujimi, who expressed confidence that the people of Ikere-Ekiti would overwhelmingly support the re-election of Governor Oyebanji and his deputy,Afuye,an illustrious daughter of the town.

Speaking during the rally, Senator Biodun Olujimi commended the developmental strides of the Oyebanji administration across Ekiti State, noting that the governor’s performance had earned him the trust and support of the people. She urged residents to sustain the progress being recorded by voting massively for the APC candidates in the June 20 governorship election.

As part of efforts to appreciate the people of Ikere-Ekiti, Senator Olujimi and members of her team distributed various palliative items, including clothing materials, cash gifts, and other empowerment packages to residents.

The former Senate Minority Leader also reaffirmed her commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that the party remained the dominant political force in Nigeria. She called on eligible voters to come out en masse and cast their votes for Governor Oyebanji and Deputy Governor Afuye.

In her remarks, the Ondo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and renowned grassroots mobiliser, Hon. (Dr.)Mrs Seun Osamaye, highlighted several achievements of the Oyebanji administration in Ikere-Ekiti and surrounding communities.

According to her, notable projects include the construction of Ikere-Igbara Odo Road, Ikere-Ise/Orun Ekiti Road,Health interventions, youth employment initiatives, and women empowerment programmes, among other developmental interventions.

Also addressing the gathering, *Ambassador Olumilua, a member of the National Campaign Council, alongside the Ekiti State Commissioner for Environment, Chief Mrs. Tosin Aluko, urged women across the community to mobilise at least five voters each and proceed to their polling centres to vote massively for the APC and its candidates, BAO and MCA.

Demonstrating strong grassroots support, France-based businessman, philanthropist, and APC stalwart,Harrison Olaniyi Alonge (HOA), joined the campaign train from Ado-Ekiti to Ikere-Ekiti. Alonge mobilised party supporters and residents across the eleven wards of the town to give a rousing welcome to the National Women Campaign Council.

Addressing party faithful and residents, Alonge urged the electorate to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and committed to the democratic process by voting massively for Governor Oyebanji, Deputy Governor Afuye, and the APC in the forthcoming election.

The rally attracted several prominent personalities, including Ambassador Olumilua, Ambassador Eniola Ajayi, Senator Raji Rasaki, Ekiti State Commissioner for Environment, Chief Mrs. Tosin Aluko, and other members of the National Women Campaign Council from Abuja.

Also present were key APC leaders and stakeholders from Ikere-Ekiti, including the Local Government Chairman, Hon. Adamolekun, Engr. Henrich Akomolafe, and numerous party faithful who turned out in large numbers to demonstrate their support for the BAO/MCA re-election campaign.

The rally marked the culmination of the National Women Campaign Council’s statewide mobilisation efforts ahead of the governorship election, with party leaders expressing optimism about securing a resounding victory at the polls.
