The General Overseer of Gethsemane Prayer Ministries International, Rev’d (Dr.) Moses Aransiola, on Tuesday officially declared open the 39th edition of the church’s Fresh Fire Convention with a strong prophetic declaration and a call for spiritual revival among worshippers.
The annual convention, themed “Awake My Glory,” on each session attracts a large congregation as members, ministers, church workers and invited guests filled the auditorium to capacity in an atmosphere charged with praise, worship and fervent prayers.
Delivering his opening address at the commencement of the programme on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, Rev’d Aransiola charged believers to embrace the convention as a divine opportunity to seek God earnestly and pray their way into victory, breakthrough and restoration.
Referencing Psalm 57 verse 8, the cleric described the scripture as a reflection of desperation and deep hunger for God as expressed by King David.
According to him, the convention’s theme was inspired by the need for believers to awaken spiritually and rise above challenges confronting their lives, families and destinies.
“Psalm 57 verse 8 is a cry of desperation from King David. It is a call for spiritual awakening and a demand for divine intervention. Every child of God must come to the point where they refuse to remain in spiritual slumber,” he said.
He further encouraged worshippers attending the convention to maximize every session through prayers, faith and total dependence on God, stressing that victory comes when believers align themselves with God’s purpose and power.
The opening service witnessed intense worship sessions, prophetic prayers and declarations as participants responded with great enthusiasm and expectations for divine encounters throughout the programme.
The Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Pastor (Dr.) Timothy Ofoha disclosed that the 2026 Fresh Fire Convention will feature powerful morning ministers’ and church workers’ meetings designed to strengthen spiritual leadership and equip workers for greater service in the vineyard of God.
According to him, the meeting is designed to deliver and recover lost ground and awake the glory that may have gone to sleep.
Several prominent guest ministers will grace the programme to minister during the multi-day convention. They include Pastor Femi Emmanuel of Living Spring International, Ibadan; Prophet Epaphras Odekunle; Rev’d Yomi Ademuwagun; Prophet Femi Oyeniyi; Rev Sam Aboyeji 5th General Overseer of Four Square Gospel Church; Bishop Joshua Nissi; and Pastor Leke Sanusi.
Church members have been expressing excitement over the convention, describing it as a moment of spiritual renewal and divine visitation.
Many attendees were seen praying passionately and engaging actively in worship as expectations remain high for testimonies, healing, deliverance and revival during the programme.
The Fresh Fire Convention has over the years grown into one of the major annual spiritual gatherings of the ministry, attracting worshippers and ministers from different parts of the state, country and beyond.
Activities for the convention are expected to continue in the coming days till the grand finally, Sunday, May 17 2026 with prophetic ministrations, revival prayers and special sessions aimed at awakening believers to deeper fellowship with God.
