The need for proper documentation as a tool for sustainable development and preservation of legacy took centre stage at the 2026 Anniversary Week of the Shafaudeen New Generation Parenthood (SNGP) Men and Women Wing held on Sunday at the Shafaudeen Centre for Religious Cooperation and Tolerance (CRCT), Ultra-Modern Hall, Wakajaiye, Ibadan.

Delivering a lecture titled “Essence of Documentation for Sustainable Development: Case of Shafaudeen and OgunElu Dynasty,” the Founder, Spiritual Head and Grand Imam of Shafaudeen-in-Islam Worldwide, Professor Sabit Ariyo Olagoke JP, stressed that documentation is sacrosanct in the voyage of life of any Ummah or organization.

Prof. Olagoke, who is also the Arole OgunElu Onipode, Mogaji Aare Alasa Dynasty, traced his ancestry to OgunElu, father of Oguntade, father of Olagoke, who is the father of Engr. Prof. S.A. Olagoke JP, . He noted that he has been divinely equipped with the power of the pen as stated in Quran 96:4-5 – “Who taught by the pen, taught man that which he knew not.”

Speaking on Generational Concern and Legacy Heritage, the Islamic scholar said the United Nations has emphasized the need to nurture and empower youths through skill-driven training to raise their capacity to manage inherited responsibilities.

“When parents are able to have a sense of belonging to the organization, Shafaudeen-in-Islam, children would undoubtedly accept Shafaudeen as their socio-spiritual home where they are reared,” he said.

He cited Quran 49:10 on brotherhood and Quran 3:103 on unity, urging members to uphold the bonds of motherhood and unity as admonished by Allah.

On My Voyage and My Concern, Prof. Olagoke said he would not want his departure from mother earth to be trailed with unwarranted controversy, hence the need for documentation of historical facts. He disclosed that he has authored 44 books on Culture, Education, Religion and Politics out of concern for humanity and emancipation.

He charged the SNGP members to build responsible and formidable homes that would churn out children with passion for home, community, society and the nation.

The programme also featured a panel discussion on Shafaudeen Behavioural Objectives as it borders on Culture, Education and Religion as processing units to reform man for good citizenship and credible leadership.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman, SNGP, Alfa Rasak Salako, expressed profound gratitude to Prof. Olagoke for his fatherly role, saying his reminder that members must not become legacy killers has served as a catalyst for positive action.

“We give all glory to Almighty Allah for His provision which has allowed us to contribute to various developmental projects embarked upon by our organisation, including the upgrading of facilities at Shafaudeen Secondary School and the ongoing construction of another branch at our National Headquarters in Shafautedo, Omi-Adio, Apata, Ibadan,” he said.

Salako noted that the projects are not merely physical structures but investments in the future and commitment to education.

He urged government at all levels to provide opportunities for youths, quality and affordable education, gainful employment, strengthen national security and improve the economy to leave a greater legacy.

He also called on members to join hands to strengthen the foundation and advance the mission.

A major hiighlight of the anniversary was the review of books that challenges Shafaudeen adherents on how to live exemplary lifestyles, with focus on home and nation building for the New Generation Parenthood.
