As Nigeria celebrates 66 years of independence and Ekiti State marks 30 years of its creation, the incoming member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Ekiti East Constituency II, Hon. (Barr.) Tajudeen Olutope Ahmed (TOA),has extended warmest greetings and heartfelt felicitations to the good people of Ekiti East Constituency II, Ekiti State, and Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.
In a goodwill message released through his TOA Media Team and made available to the press in Ado-Ekiti, These twin anniversaries are significant milestones in our collective journey. They offer us an opportunity to celebrate our achievements, honour those whose sacrifices have brought us this far, reflect on the challenges we have overcome, and renew our commitment to building a brighter future.
Sixty-six years of Nigerian independence is a remarkable journey of resilience, sacrifice, hope and determination. Through changing times and various challenges, the Nigerian spirit has remained strong. Our people continue to demonstrate extraordinary courage, creativity, enterprise and an unwavering belief in the possibility of a better nation.
As we celebrate Nigeria at 66, let us renew our commitment to the ideals of unity, peace, justice, responsible leadership and inclusive development. Our diversity remains one of our greatest strengths, and our shared destiny demands that we continue to work together for a Nigeria where every citizen has the opportunity to live with dignity, pursue their dreams and contribute meaningfully to national development.
For us in Ekiti State, this is an equally historic occasion as we celebrate 30 years since the creation of our dear state.
Three decades of Ekiti State represent a remarkable story of courage, resilience, intellectual excellence, cultural richness and community spirit. From our farmers and teachers to our professionals, entrepreneurs, artisans, students, civil servants, traditional institutions and countless hardworking citizens, the Ekiti story has been built by people whose contributions continue to shape our identity and future.
We proudly remain the Land of Honour, renowned for our commitment to education, integrity, knowledge, courage and industry.
As we mark 30 years of statehood, however, celebration must also be accompanied by renewed determination. We must continue to build an Ekiti where good governance is strengthened, young people have access to meaningful opportunities, women are empowered, our communities receive the development they deserve, and every citizen can look to the future with renewed confidence.
For the people of Ekiti East Constituency II, these anniversaries should inspire greater unity, stronger community spirit and a renewed commitment to progress.
Our constituency is blessed with hardworking, intelligent and resourceful people. Their aspirations deserve representation that listens, engages, speaks with courage and remains accountable to the people.
We must continue to support initiatives that promote education, youth empowerment, employment, agriculture, women’s development, infrastructure and inclusive economic growth.
The future we desire cannot be built by government alone. It requires the collective efforts of citizens, leaders, community organisations, young people, women and every stakeholder committed to the advancement of our communities.
Nigeria at 66 and Ekiti at 30 remind us that nation-building and state-building are continuous journeys.
While we celebrate how far we have come, we must remain focused on the work ahead. Let us choose unity over division, service over selfishness, hope over despair, and progress over complacency.
May Nigeria continue to grow in peace, strength and prosperity.
May Ekiti State continue to flourish as a beacon of knowledge, integrity, enterprise and honour.
And may the people of Ekiti East Constituency II continue to experience greater opportunities, meaningful development and a future filled with hope.
On this historic occasion, I celebrate with you all and reaffirm my commitment to a stronger, more prosperous and inclusive governance in line with Governor Oyebanji’s administration.
Happy celebration
