The Mogaji Elect of Aliyu Oyabisehin Babakekere dynasty, Oke Aare, Ambassador (Chief) Ajibola Babatunde Suraju has successfully laid the foundation for ultra modern palace after the renovation of three family buildings to a good standard in Aliyu Oyabisehin Babakekere compound at Oke Aare Ibadan on Saturday
In the speech delivered at the occasion and made available to journalists, Ambassador Ajibola Babatunde disclosed that the foundation laying of the palace was in conformity with the wish of His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa1) that Mogajis and Baales should visit their family compounds regularly to rehabilitate the dilapidated buildings within the compounds and also to demonstrate the love he has for Oyabisehin Babakekere family compound in particular and Ibadanland in general
The Mogaji Elect used the occasion to appreciate the love, harmony and peaceful co -existence in the family
In his words,”I am happy to champion the construction of the ultra modern palace so as to show the love and affection I have for my people and to re – emphasise that Aliyu Oyabisehin Babakekere Dynasty is deeply rooted in Ibadan land from time Immemorial.
“I call on all sons and daughters of Oyabisehin to come to their “Macedonia” and rebuild it, Ambassador Ajibola Babatunde made the clarion call.
He reiterated his commitment to the peace, unity, progress and development of Ibadanland, adding that all hands must be on deck to take Ibadanland to a greater height
On the security situation in Nigeria, the Mogaji -Elect described the situation as worrisome saying, if pragmatic action was not taken, it will discourage foreign investors and further damage our dwindling economy
During the foundation laying ceremony, sons and daughters of Oyabisehin within Nigeria and in the diaspora were in attendance with joy and praises to God Almighty for sparing their lives not only to witness the occasion but to participate in the programme.
