Former Vice Chairman of Oyo State Tennis Association, Tunde Oyediran has advised the state governor Engr Seyi Makinde to either privatize Shooting Stars Football club and Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso or increase their monthly grants
Speaking in Ibadan, Oyediran who was also member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Oyo state President Election Campaign Committee (PECC) stated that the grant being given to the Oluyole Warriors and Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso are inadequate.

Oyediran
He explained that Oyo state Government can either increase grants to Shooting Stars Football Club or allow well meaning Nigerians buy its shares and become partners or increase its monthly grant adding that grants of twenty five million naira given to the Oluyole Warriors monthly is not enough just as grant of sixteen million naira to Crown Football club is not sufficient enough to meet its financial needs.
Oyediran said further that the amount both teams are getting is merely for the maintenance of the teams noting that grant given to Crown FC is just to ensure that government extends financial gesture to Ogbomoso people through their team.
“If you want one hundred percent control of the team, you must give enough money to them” he maintained ,saying “ what is worth doing at all, is what doing well”
Oyediran also pointed out that Engr Makinde should endeavor to fulfill the promise made to the State contingent to the last National Sports Festival (NSF) who came third with 50 gold, 60 silver and 51 bronze medals at the games held in Edo state in 2021
He observed that the Governor may not have fulfilled the promise because of too many financial commitment here and there during the last state gubernatorial election which he eventually won, urging him to pay up the athletes.
“ These are people that are struggling to meet their financial commitment in life and promise is like a debt “ Oyediran posited .
“Governor Makinde should pay them because these athletes are already looking up to this money as a debt owed them which they can use to solve one problem or the other when paid”
He submitted that he was cocksure that protests by the athletes would not dissuade the Governor from making further promises to the athletes because he is a lover of sports who wants the sector to develop and grow.
