The Oyo State Governorship Campaign Council of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has inaugurated additional members of its expanded campaign committees with a charge to members to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration, held on Friday at the Local Government Service Commission Hall, Secretariat , saw the addition of new members to the previously announced list as part of efforts to strengthen coordination and ensure wider participation in the campaign structure.
The Director-General of the Campaign Council, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, said the expansion was designed to enhance operational effectiveness, disclosing that a new Community Relations and Voters’ Education Committee has been established, while the existing Mobilisation Committee has been split into specialised sub-committees for better results.
Dr. Adeniran expressed confidence that the restructuring would boost the council’s capacity to engage communities, mobilise supporters, promote voter education and coordinate campaign activities across the state.
“These committees are specialized committees that will take charge of different aspects of our campaign. Because this particular campaign is a serious one and we are not taking it lightly.
“We want to ensure that we do this campaign and win the elections. So we have different committees that have been set up.
“Your appointment to this committee is because of your commitment, passion and interest in the success of the party. And we are all out to ensure that our candidates, both the presidential and the governorship, as well as other candidates that the party is bringing out, win this election. And I know that by the grace of God, we are going to win,” Adeniran charged.
In his remarks, the Governorship candidate of the party, Bimbo Adekanmbi, charged members of the committees to work in unison to ensure victory for the party.
“We have seen the pouring out of so much enthusiasm, support, and love. We have so overwhelming support that we will be producing a weekly updated list. Every day people are volunteering to join us. It’s so humbling, the kind of love and support we are experiencing. Because people know that this is a government that is their government. Its a revolution and we love it.
“With the kind of support and enthusiasm we are seeing, the sky is our limit,” Adekanmbi said.
In their goodwill messages, Oyo State APM Chairman, Otunba Adegbenro Fagbemi; State Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro; Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde; and Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, Badhorun Akinwale Akinwole , all charged the committees to see their appointment as a commitment toward the success of the party and to move to all nooks and crannies of the state without allowing distraction and division, saying “this is not a time to play but for serious work.”
