The Performing Musician Association of Nigeria (PMAN), South-West Zone, has elected a new Executive Council to steer the affairs of the association and promote the growth and welfare of music practitioners across the region and the country in particular.


The election and constitution of the new executive took place at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan, on Wednesday, August 25, 2026, with PMAN governors and secretaries from the seven states in the zone in attendance.

Comrade Mutiu Ayeloja, popularly known as Manadex, emerged as the new Chairman of the South-West PMAN, while Comrade Taiwo Omotunde was elected Deputy Chairman.
Other members of the new Executive Council are Comrade Jide Murphy Abiade, Secretary; Comrade Prince Abiodun Adebayo Adegoroye, popularly known as Abbey Simmo, Financial Secretary; Comrade Adisa Owala, Treasurer; Comrade Sir Tayo Akinbade, Welfare/Social Officer; Comrade Chief Adankanra Olalere, Organising Secretary; and Comrade Alhaji Fatai Tijani, Public Relations Officer.
The meeting was attended by PMAN governors from Oyo, Ondo, Ogun, Ekiti, Kwara, Lagos and Osun states.
Those present included Comrade Taiwo Omotunde, Oyo State PMAN Governor; Comrade Jide Murphy Abiade, Ondo State PMAN Governor; Comrade Prince Abiodun Adebayo Adegoroye (Abbey Simmo), Ogun State PMAN Governor; Comrade Chief Adankanra Olalere, Ekiti State PMAN Governor; Comrade Alhaji Adisa Owala, Kwara State PMAN Governor; Comrade Alhaji Fatai Tijani, Lagos State PMAN Governor; and Comrade Sir Tayo Akinbade, Osun State PMAN Governor.
Also in attendance were the state secretaries, including Comrade Psalmist (Dr.) Adeolu Afolami of Oyo State, Comrade Tope Ogunjobi of Osun State, Comrade Ben Ikuejamofo of Ondo State, Comrade Christopher Aduroja of Ekiti State, Comrade Monsuru Ewetade of Lagos State, Comrade Ejire Adetoro of Kwara State and Comrade Olujimi Oyewusi of Ogun State.
Speaking at the occasion, the outgoing Chairman, Dr. Ola Jombo, expressed appreciation to the PMAN governors and their secretaries for their support and cooperation throughout his tenure.
Jombo charged the newly elected Executive Council to remain committed to their responsibilities and work collectively towards advancing the interests of the association and its members.
The outgoing Secretary, Baale Comrade Evangelist Remi Aderoju, also thanked members for their support during the tenure of the outgoing administration.
In his acceptance remarks, the newly elected Chairman, Comrade Mutiu Ayeloja (Manadex), expressed gratitude to members for the confidence reposed in him.
Ayeloja pledged to work closely with other members of the Executive Council to strengthen PMAN and contribute to the advancement of the Nigerian music industry.
He called for unity, cooperation and commitment among members, stressing that the collective efforts of music practitioners remained essential to addressing challenges in the industry and creating better opportunities for practitioners.
The election and inauguration of the new executive marked another phase in the leadership of PMAN in the South-West, with members expressing optimism that the new administration would promote unity, welfare and professional development within the music industry.
The communique was jointly signed by the Secretary, Comrade Jide Murphy Abiade, and the Public Relations Officer, Comrade Fatai Tijani.
