The cleric, who was one of the powerful guest ministers for the Convention stressed the need for the Church to rise and take active interest in the leadership of the nation.

According to him, negligence and attitude of the church towards politics and governance were reasons the country has suffered much over the years. “If Nigeria will be delivered, the Church need to rise up,” he said.

He encouraged Christians not distance themselves from governance, noting that their involvement in politics would help shape the country positively.

“As Christians, we must not take our eyes off the governance of the nation. We need to participate actively in politics and governance so that we too can contribute to national development,” he stated.

Pastor Emmanuel also called on Christians to unite in fervent prayers for the country and its leaders, especially at a critical time like this in the nation’s history.

Ministering on the theme, “Awake My Glory”, the cleric encouraged believers to seek the glory of God in all aspects of their lives, saying divine glory has the power to transform destinies.

He urged Christians to avoid sin and negative associations capable of hindering them from experiencing God’s glory.

“My life is a testimony in all ramifications,  judging from my background. I came from a poor background and obscurity, but God’s glory transformed my life and He is still taking me higher,” he said.

The Cleric later offered prayers and prophetic declarations for the church and members of the congregation.

Speaking earlier, while playing host to Pastor Emmanuel in his office, the General Overseer of Gethsemane Prayer Ministries International, Rev’d (Dr.) Moses Aransiola, described his visit as a blessing to the church and the Fresh Fire Convention.

Rev’d Aransiola while corroborating Pastor Emmanuel’s view on active participation of the Church in politics and governance of the country, added that the nation would witness greater progress if government provide a good platform to enable the  Church work closely with government to move the nation forward.

High point of the Friday programme was the prophetic declaration by Pastor Femi Emmanuel while he was conducted round facility and the Prayer Tower of the Church
