A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Chief Segun Taiwo has assured that despite manipulations and defections that trailed the party’s last primaries nation wide, leaders of the party in the state are said to have embarked on moves to recapture the State after what they described as a long wait.

Chief Taiwo in an exclusive interview with Oodua News said with the calibre of grassroot leaders like Chief Taofik Arapaja (Ibadan) Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola (Oke-Ogun), Hon. Remi Odetomi and Senator Fatai Buhari (Ogbomoso), Ambassador Victor Kunle Adeleke, Alhaji Idris Adeoye, Senator Yunus Akintunde and Prince Akeem Adeyemi (Oyo), victory is certain, as the party’s leaders have embarked on moves to ensure victory at the 2027 election in the state.

“The battle line, he said, has been drawn between APC and other political parties in the State taking part in next year’s general election.”

According to Chief Taiwo, with assurances from Senator Hosea Agboola to deliver the entire Oke-Ogun, Senator Fatai, Ogbomoso and people like Alhaji Idris Adeoye and Idowu Adesokan as well as Mrs. Kafayat Olakojo, the coast is getting clearer and clearer by the day for APC to take over.

“As for our Governorship candidate, Senator Sarafadeen Ali is a force to be reckoned with, particularly his pedigree and antecedents, as no candidates from other political parties can match him.”

When asked what the party is doing about the waring members, Chief Taiwo said, “the leaders of the party resolved to float three committees to reconcile all aggrieved members, one for the Governorship race, the second for the National Assembly and third for the State a

Assembly.

“Fortunately, I was a member of the National Assembly reconciliation committee, in which we recommended that, members who obtained forms but failed to be picked as candidates should have their nomination fee refunded.

“We equally recommended that the party should stop imposition of candidates for such elections, as well as promote sense of belonging through rotation.”

Asked what happened to those who went to challenge the results of the primaries, “it was equally recommended that such members should be pacified to withdraw their cases.

However, of all the fifty-two (52) contestants that participated in the primaries, all except three (3) participants withdrew completely from contenting against the results of the primaries.

Of the three (3) that were left, two (2) have indicated their willingness to withdraw their case while judgement has been reserved till October for the third participant in respect of the Oyo Federal Constituency.”

Chief Taiwo however assured that, “the case would be dismissed by the court.

With the stage being set now, the APC in the State is being assured that all things being equal, and with the strategies already in place, and come May 29, 2027, Senator Sarafadeen Abiodun Ali will emerge the next Governor of the State.” Chief Taiwo assured.
