A leading All Progressives Congress, (APC) governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Prince Asatola Musbaudeen Asanike has condemned an alleged reported adoption of a particular governorship aspirant by some chieftains of the party in the state
Asanike who made this known after purchasing his Expression of Interest and Nomination for governorship forms in Abuja warned that any backdoor adoption of any aspirant done in secrecy and without the knowledge of all critical stakeholders in Oyo APC is flagrant anti- democratic action that may cause chaps and bring an indictment and affront not only on APC leaders in Oyo State but also the national level..
He said the peace in Oyo APC should not be disrupted by desperate politicians who are hell-bent in protecting their inordinate ambition of imposing a particular aspirant warning that all governorship aspirants that purchase Nomination forms with millions of Naira will not open their eyes to flagrant disobedience to well laid out procedures of the party.
Asanike said the media reports which. Indicated that some leaders met in an hideout to adopt a particular aspirant is untenable, disappointing and dangerous, warning that the Media responsible for such unverified publication should remember the ethics of journalism which called for balancing and precision in the interest and good of the larger society.
He said as a lover of the media and one who has utmost confidence in the power of corporate journalism, news reporting should not be turned to fiction that pays no regard to the mood of the society.
He said he has utmost confidence in the party leadership under the State Chairman, Chief Dr Moses Adeyemo Alake and his Executive Members, particularly the State Secretary, Barrister Fatai Adesina who he described as a credible personality.
Critical stakeholders in Oyo APC expressed shock and disbelief on the media reports ,saying if it is true the matter deserves immediate attention of the leaders especially President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Executive Committee of the party.
