A group of gospel music artistes led by Kenny Jones and Mega 99 on Thursday paid a surprise visit to legendary gospel music minister, Funmi Aragbaiye, at her residence in Ibadan.

During the visit, the singers thrilled the veteran evangelist by performing several of her evergreen songs, celebrating her remarkable contributions to gospel music.

Some of the songs they sang and danced to included “Omo Layegbe Aiye,” “Ijoba Orun Kusi Dede,” “Bawa Taye Wa Se,” “Mo Gbo Ipe Olorun,” “Sioni Ilu Ayo,” “Olorun Igbala,” “Ogo Iri Orun Se,” and “Oluwa Modupe,” among others.
Speaking during the visit, Evangelist (Dr.) Funmi Aragbaiye advised gospel singers to prioritize their health in order to remain strong and avoid sudden breakdown.
According to her, many health challenges should not always be attributed to spiritual attacks.
“All of you have one health challenge or the other. Not every death or health problem comes from witches, wizards, or enemies. Even I am guilty of the same issue because I do not often go to the hospital,” she said.
She revealed that renowned legal icon Afe Babalola has repeatedly encouraged her to visit the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital for medical tests and treatment whenever necessary.
“Aare Afe Babalola is like a great father to me. He often encourages me to come to ABUAD Teaching Hospital in Ekiti State for tests and treatment of any ailment. I have not gone there in the past year because God has still given me the grace to move around here and there, but that is not good enough,” she added.
Evangelist Aragbaiye therefore called on the general public to pray for gospel ministers to receive the grace and wisdom to recognize that health is wealth.
The visit turned into a moment of joy, celebration, honour, and admiration as the colourful atmosphere created by the gospel artistes filled the home of the veteran evangelist as they chorused her inspirational and evergreen songs, creating an atmosphere of excitement.
