The President of the Non-Indigenes Traditional Council of Ibadan and Oyo State (NITCIOS), His Royal Highness Ajofe (Dr.) Friday Okoliko, has extolled the leadership qualities of the Olubadan-designate, Oba (Senator) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, describing him as a royal father of impeccable character and a father figure whose contributions to the growth and development of Ibadan and Oyo State remain remarkable.

Speaking in Ibadan, Ajofe Okoliko—who also holds the traditional title of Onu Igala of Ibadanland and Agenyi Ata of the Igala Kingdom—expressed confidence that Oba Ladoja’s reign as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland will usher in a new era of peace, unity, and transformation for both indigenes and non-indigenes alike.
“This is the first time a former governor of Oyo State is ascending the throne as Olubadan. We are confident that his reign will bring about greater peace, development, and inclusiveness in Ibadan and the entire state,” he said.
Recalling Ladoja’s time as governor, Okoliko noted the former leader’s inclusive policies and commitment to equity, citing his decision to allow non-indigenes to serve as principals and headteachers in public schools as a major example of his broad-minded leadership.
“Oba Ladoja is a father to both indigenes and non-indigenes. His emergence as Olubadan is divine and signifies hope and transformation for the ancient city and beyond,” he added.
Ajofe Okoliko assured the Olubadan-designate of the continued support and cooperation of non-indigenes living in the state. He offered prayers for Oba Ladoja’s successful accession to the throne and a peaceful reign.
Installed as the President of NITCIOS in 2025, Ajofe Okoliko also used the occasion to call on non-indigenes across the state to live in peace and harmony with their host communities.
“Since I assumed office, I have consistently preached unity, love, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence among all ethnic groups. These values are essential for the progress and development of any society,” he emphasized.
Ajofe Okoliko commended the contributions and quality leadership of the late Olubadan, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin Ige (1) during his reign.
He concluded by reaffirming the readiness of the non-indigene community in Oyo State to foster positive relationships with their hosts and contribute meaningfully to the peace and growth of the state under Oba Ladoja’s reign.
