A strong member of the Integrity Supporters Club of the Shootings Football club Supporters Club Olaide Alausa has stated that the issue of securing a continental ticket for the Oluyole Warriors should be the priority of the new Chairman of the team Honorable Taiwo Lekan Salami.
Honorable Taiwo Salami was appointed by the Governor of Oyo state Engr Seyi Makinde after he dissolved the board of the Shooting Stars Football club of Ibadan led by Honorable David Babatunde Olaniyan which has been on the saddle for about six years on Monday.
Speaking on Tuesday in Ibadan, Alausa opined that the new Chairman should examine the files to see how far the previous management had gone with the issue of players recruitment and sack besides having a meeting with the Supporters club which he noted owns the team.
He argued that due to the average grant of fifty thousand naira monthly being received by the Oluyole Warriors, Honorable Salami should not think of recruiting experienced players only but rather should endeavor to have a blend of old and new players in order not have a problem of funding.
He pointed out that experience has shown that a blend of experience and youthful as obtained in the teams of Remo Stars Football Club and Ikorodu football club of Lagos can perform well instead of the just experienced legs which will gulp so much money to maintain.
The ardent Supporters said that the Coach Gbenga Ogunbote still enjoys the confidence of the Supporters and the fans adding the caliber of players to be retained and recruited should be critically looked into to forestall a recurrence of what happened last year when the players were alleged to be engaged in betting which negatively affected the fortunes of the Shooting Stars
