
Christian Legislators’ in Oyo State House of Assembly have been admonished to reference God in their lawmaking activities in order to allow the ever constant presence of God to reign supreme and bring a positive turn around to the state.

The admonition was given by God’s Servant, Very Rev’d James Olaleye Olukoya of The Lords Chapel, the Polytechnic Ibadan at the 2024 Christmas Carol programme of Christian Legislators’ Fellowship of Nigeria, the Oyo State House of Assembly, Ibadan, held at the Parliament Chapel on Wednesday, December, 11 2024.
Speaking on the theme, “Ever Present and Dependable Emmanuel”, the guest Minister said, “God is ever present in the midst of the nations of the world despite the economic challenges facing the nation.
According to him, God still has power to turn things around if the people can turn away from their sinful ways, urging the legislators to put the fear of God in their lawmaking activities in order to set the record straight.
“If the Legislators’ can put the fear of the Lord in place, especially in their lawmaking activities, the country will be better for it.
He said there is the need for the legislators to reference God and put justice in place so that the nation can get good result in it’s pursuit for peace, progress and development.
Speaking, the president of the state Christian Legislators’ Fellowship International, Hon. Olufemi Oluwafowokanmi described Carol as Song of praise to celebrate Christmas adding that the testimonies over the years have been very encouraging.
He urged the people to use the occasion to glorify God because of His mercy over everyone. “The season of Christmas is a reminder to appreciate the Lord Jesus Christ and accept Him as Lord and Savior.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Planning Committee of the CLFI 2024 Christmas Carol, Hon Gbenga Oyekola described the season as a time of love and sharing.
He commended members of the CLFI for the wonderful programme, urging them to always remember the essence of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to the world.
He encouraged the Assembly lawmakers to give themselves for the service of God and the people in order to move the State forward.
In her speech at the well attended programme, the Wife of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, Mrs Olamidun Ogundoyin thanked members of the state CLFI for the colour programme.
Mrs Ogundoyin, who is Mother of day in her speech, expressed hope that the people have knowing and unknowing recieved blessings from God through their act of worship.
“There are blessings God gives to His people knowingly and unknowing, we should appreciate God and ensure a united House of Assembly in the state.
Let’s be thankful for the simple joy that make our day good and we should extend kindness to others in the spirit of Christmas.
The programme which featured Bible Reading from the scripture has other lawmakers like Hon. Razak Mabaje and the Clerk of the House, Mrs Taiwo Adenike Muraina Akinola in attendance.
Highlight of the Carol programme was presentation and rendition of special carol songs from the CFLI mass choir.
