Age was no barrier for the 80-year-old Oluode of Ejigbo, Chief Ramon Busari, as he joined other voters to cast his ballot at Unit 04, Ward 1, during Saturday’s Osun State governorship election.
The traditional chief was seen patiently waiting in the queue before exercising his franchise, saying voting remained both a right and a civic responsibility.
“I still feel obliged to help choose leaders for our state,” Busari said after casting his vote.
He used the opportunity to urge young people across the state to come out and participate in the election, stressing that their votes could shape the future of Osun.
“Your votes matter. Do not stay away from the polls. Participate peacefully and decide the future you want,” he urged.
Busari noted that abstaining from elections amounted to leaving the decision-making process in the hands of others, urging young voters to make their voices count through active and peaceful participation in the democratic process.
