A retired Information Officer in the Oyo State Ministry of Information, Honourable Adeyemi Titilope Adebolanle, has declared that her decision to contest the House of Representatives seat for Ibadan North Federal Constituency under the platform of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) in the 2027 general elections is driven by her passion for public service and grassroots development.
Hon. Adeyemi, a seasoned journalist who served the Oyo State Government for 35 years before retiring from the civil service, disclosed this during an interview with Oodua News Newspaper.
She explained that after a fulfilling career in public service, she ventured into private business, where she has continued to thrive, adding that her wealth of experience in journalism, public administration and community engagement has adequately prepared her for legislative service.
According to her, the decision to seek elective office was borne out of a genuine desire to contribute more meaningfully to the development of Ibadan North Federal Constituency and improve the quality of life of its people.
“I see my aspiration as a call to service. Having served the Oyo State Government faithfully for 35 years, I believe the time has come for me to bring my experience to bear in providing effective representation for the people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency,” she said.
Adeyemi noted that her background as a journalist and public information officer has given her a deeper understanding of governance, public policy and the yearnings of the people, stressing that she possesses the capacity to deliver the dividends of democracy if elected.
She said her legislative agenda would focus on strengthening security, improving healthcare delivery, promoting quality education, supporting youth and women empowerment and accelerating community development across the constituency.
“Security remains one of the greatest concerns of our people today. If elected, I will work with relevant stakeholders to promote policies that will strengthen security, improve healthcare, support education and create opportunities that will attract investments into Ibadan North Federal Constituency,” she stated.
The PRP candidate expressed confidence in the capacity of the People’s Redemption Party to provide purposeful leadership in Oyo State, urging residents to support the party’s candidates in the 2027 general elections.
She specifically appealed to the electorate to vote for her as their representative in the House of Representatives and also support the PRP governorship candidate, Asiwaju (Dr.) Yinusa Kazeem Ayandoye, describing him as a competent leader with the vision to move Oyo State forward.
Adeyemi also called on Nigerians to continue supporting the Federal Government, noting that nation-building requires the collective efforts, patience and cooperation of all citizens.
While acknowledging the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in addressing the country’s socio-economic challenges, she urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and continue contributing positively to national development.
“Our country is like a family. Building a better Nigeria requires the collective efforts of every citizen. We must all play our part by supporting policies and programmes that will move the nation forward,” she said.
The House of Representatives hopeful assured residents of Ibadan North Federal Constituency that she would provide responsive, accessible and people-oriented representation if elected.
She pledged to sponsor impactful legislation, facilitate constituency development projects and ensure that the interests of her constituents receive adequate attention at the National Assembly.
Adeyemi appealed to politicians across party lines to embrace issue-based politics and shun bitterness and divisive tendencies, stressing that politics should be seen as a platform for development rather than personal rivalry.
According to her, Nigeria requires visionary leadership anchored on continuity, sound administrative structures and policies that promote sustainable development.
She further advised the electorate to resist vote-buying and other forms of electoral inducement, warning that exchanging votes for money has continued to undermine good governance and national development.
“The future of our nation depends on the choices we make during elections. I urge Nigerians not to sell their votes but to elect credible leaders who possess the vision, competence and integrity to deliver good governance,” she added
